In “An honor worth defending” in the IHT Ayaan Hirsi Ali calls on the West to recover its spine and defend its culture and civilization. But there is a curious phrase in the opening paragraph: [peace be upon him]

I would endorse the call for the West to recover its spine and defend its culture, but this is unlikely to happen in the short term. Instead, Alexander Downer and the like will offer “Regional Interfaith Dialogue” in the vain hope that they can “empower the moderate majorities who seek peace, harmony and tolerance in all our communities.” (Downer’s web site)

The Australian delegates, including George Pell, John Baldock, Ameer Ali,
