He might be interested in knowing 3 things regarding Islam and Christianity. First: By dint of the biblical Old Testament’s 10 Commandments, notably the one stating “thou shalt not commit murder” Christianity eliminates any all possibilities of religious sanctioning of homicide save self-defense in the Christian faith (abortion clinic shooters and bombers are violating this commandment). Even the “an eye for an eye” text in the Old Testament can be construed as a self-defense pact which was specific to the time it was written in (when tribal warfare was rife).

Second: Islam actively teaches first-degree murder of non-Muslims and does so without setting any real limits as we see in the Kuran’s Surah 9.5 text (“and when the forbidden months have passed, slay the unbelievers everywhere they are found; besiege them, capture them, torture them, prepare every stratagem of warfare upon them; levy the poor tax upon their conversion to the ways of al-lah”). Mr. Lewis himself by the Kuran’s definition, is in fact an infidel and could legally be killed by any Muslim under Islamic law. (Gee, wouldn’t that be a big, fat loss?!). Muslims believe this Kuranic teaching pertaining to slaying the “unbelievers”, practice it worldwide — and Americans term this “terrorism.”

Third: The Founding Fathers of the United States were largely Christians and the United States’ Constitution is built upon Christian principles. No Islamic state has EVER produced a document validating human rights at all much less one that permits citizens lattitude to openly criticize their government. Could anyone imagine the Iranian Mullahs drafting a document on par with the US Constitution? Anyone except our sniggering “friend” Mr. Lewis??? But then, Mr. Lewis never said he was interested in knowing anything did he???
