Jakarta Indonesia: 100 000 Demonstrate Against Islam & Sharia

by sheikyermami on August 12, 2007

Make that 90.000, 80.0000, no: 70.000

You think? NOT!

They want to bring you the caliphate instead. Because only MORE Islam can cure Islam’s ills:

The BBC’s Lucy Williamson reports from Indonesia, where tens of thousands of Islamists have gathered to push for the creation of a single state across the Muslim world.

Hizb ut-Tahrir managed to fill the Gelora Bung Karno stadium

Almost like the Nuremberg rallies…

The dull roars of a football match, the twanging music of a youth group concert – from a distance it is not always easy to tell an Islamic conference from a holiday crowd.
Inside Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno stadium the clues get easier. There are about 100,000 people inside, and everyone is in Islamic dress.

The women’s section – by far the biggest – is a pitter-patter of ice-cream colours. On their parasols, one word is printed over and over again: Khilafah, caliphate.

This is the reason why people have come here. To show their support for a single, unified, Islamic state.

Maybe I chose Hizb ut-Tahrir because it unites the masses better than other Islamic organisation
Yani, Hizb ut-Tahrir member
They have been invited by the international Islamist group, Hizb ut-Tahrir. Not everyone believed they would fill the stadium, but Hizb ut-Tahrir is good at bringing in supporters – and keeping them.
Milling around outside the stadium we found 24-year-old Akbar.

He was not a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, but he said: “This conference is not just for one group. In my opinion, if you support there being sharia law in Indonesia, you’ve got to be here.”

Yani, a student from Bogor, said she had come to show there was support for Islam, and support for a Caliphate too.

Next to her, Wisnu told us she was there to increase ties with other Muslims.
“Maybe I chose Hizb ut-Tahrir because it unites the masses better than other Islamic organisations,” she said.

But if the audience turnout was impressive, not so the speakers lined up to address the crowd.

One by one, over the past few days, seven of the delegates invited to speak have dropped out.

Bucktooth Bashir Barred

Controversial Indonesian cleric Abu Bakar Ba’asyir was asked to stay away on security grounds, while three national leaders cancelled at the last minute.

Hizb ut-Tahrir – or Liberation Party – was founded in Jerusalem in the 1950s by Palestinian religious scholar Taqiuddin an-Nabhani.

Many experts see it as ideologically close to jihadist groups, and suspect its commitment to peaceful means is purely tactical.

Hardliners call for Islamic state

NEARLY 90,000 followers of a hardline Muslim group have packed a stadium in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, calling for the creation of an Islamic state and thunderously chanting “Allah is great!”

Hizb ut-Tarhir, a Sunni organisation with an estimated one million members, is banned in some Asian and Arab countries, but drew supporters from Europe, Africa and the Middle East to Indonesia for a meeting of the group that is held every two years.

However, Sheikh Ismail Al Wahwah, of the group’s Australian branch, was one of two international speakers prevented by Indonesian authorities from entering the country to attend today’s huge conference.

Speeches called for the return of the caliphate, or Islamic statehood, across the Muslim world. The crowd, divided into sections for women and men, roared in support.

Islamists hold massive rally in Jakarta to revive Caliphate

The event, touted by the group’s spokesman Muhammad Ismail Yusanto as an international conference entitled “It is now time for the Caliphate to reign,” is hearing several speakers, including foreign invitees.

Hizbut Tahrir advocate the return of a caliphate — Islamic rule — to govern the world.

The organisation is banned in several Middle-eastern countries.

But Yusanto said that two speakers — Imran Waheed from England and Syeik Ismail Al Wahwah from Australia — had been denied entry and deported from Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-populated country, when they arrived at Jakarta international airport on Friday.

Too small? Click hereThis is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way...But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted.Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it!One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that.Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

India is the worst country who are corrupted and hungry for money from Mulsims. Inidia, the only country holding illiterate people who govern the country can’t understand anything. Let India rule the world with Pakistan.

What is a Caliphate without a Caliph? Where would the Caliph be based?

Mecca or Medinah, perhaps, but Jerusalem, according to some of the hard boys. Ahmadinejad sees the reestablishment of the Caliphate as the precursor for the (re)appearance of the Imam Mahdi, and the march of the “Jerusalem Liberation Army” from Iran, via Iraq (Saddam is out of the way) to Israel. It will not be Jesus Christ who returns with the Mahdi, but it may well be the Antichrist who puts in an appearance at about the time that God (not the Allah-fake) deals with the invasion of Israel (Ezekiel 38 & 39).

10,000+ are reported to have attended the Caliphate rally in the West Bank,
and denounced the “moderate” Palestinian leadership in the West Bank as “infidels”.

“It’s known that no one fights the caliphate, expect (sic) for infidels or representatives of the infidels”.
