Biased CNN ‘Warriors’ crosses the line

Critics of religion like to claim that the source of most of the world’s ills can be traced to believers who wage wars in the name of their distorted fanatic faiths. Indeed, this thesis has led to a spate of new books advocating atheism and deriding religion in the past year.
Needless to say, critics of this trend have pointed out that the vast majority of the deaths incurred by conflicts in history’s bloodiest century — the twentieth — were caused by fanatical non-believers in traditional faiths in the name of their Communist, Maoist and Nazi faiths.
But it must be admitted that violent religious extremists are, at this moment in time, the primary threat to the peace of the world. The only problem with this unpleasant fact is that the opprobrium rightly aimed at the perpetrators of this faith-based violence cannot be neatly distributed across the board to practitioners of the three major monotheistic religions.
Though present-day Jews and Christians are not all saints, there is no getting around the fact that neither of those religions has sprouted a contemporary movement aimed at world domination to be achieved by terror and war. That honor is reserved for the Muslim faith, among whose adherents Islamist terror movements have found a home in the mainstream of its culture.
Not all Muslims are Islamists. Most American Muslims are nothing of the kind. But the notion that supporters of Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other assorted anti-Western and anti-Jewish terror movements are a tiny minority in the Arab and Muslim world is a delusion.
But in this age of political correctness, to single out one group for the sins of a large number of its members is considered unfair and perhaps even racist. So, instead, we are asked to pretend that there is an intrinsic connection or even symmetry between Christian, Jewish and Muslim extremists.
That was exactly the premise of a widely heralded three-part series on CNN last week. Titled “G-d’s Holy Warriors,” and fronted by famed international correspondent Christiane Amanpour, it was a tryptich across the globe to highlight the danger from Jewish, Muslim and Christian extremists who are all given the same treatment and air-time in the guise of even-handedness.
Thus, by its very structure of equating the three different situations, the series was nothing short of a brazen lie.

In November of 2005, Fox’s O’Reilly showed live footage of the French Intifada as it raged in Paris. According to WorldNetDaily, Saudi billionaire Prince al-Waleed bin Talal, (aka Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin AbdulAziz AlSaud), who owns 5-6% of the Fox News Channel, personally called Rupert Murdoch and asked him to change the offensive (but accurate) caption: “Muslim Riots” to the less offensive (and less accurate) “Civil Riots.” Within thirty minutes, the Prince had his way.
Our fine Saudi prince also owns shares in Times-Warner/AOL/CNN, which he first acquired in 2002. According to Forbes, the London Guardian, and other media outlets, in 2002 the Prince “claimed to own 1.4 billion in AOL stock…in 2003 he bought another 450 million of AOL stock.” God knows what he owns now. (Yes, he’s the very Prince whom Presidential hopeful Rudy Guiliani humiliated when he refused to accept his ten million dollar donation for humanitarian aid immediately following 9/11).
To paraphrase New York Post columnist Cindy Adams: Only in America kids, only in America.
Right. ‘All religions are equally bad’ and ‘one man’s freedom fighter is another mans terrorist’ ends up becoming enemy propaganda, which is used against our own interest and people, like here:

DAMASCUS, Syria (CNN) -- Sitting in a room with the top Hamas leader — a man Israel would prefer dead — is not an easy feeling, knowing that at any second a missile could shatter the building, killing everyone inside, myself included.
And, of course, it is no surprise why Israel has Khaled Meshaal at the top of its hit list. He is known to have ordered bombings that have targeted Israeli civilians, blowing up cafés, markets and malls across Israel.
CNN senior correspondent Nic Robertson and I recently sat down with Meshaal in a secret Hamas “safe house” in the middle of Damascus. Hamas security guards were all around, their automatic rifles draped over their shoulders. The walls were adorned with the pictures of Hamas members who have carried out suicide bombings that have killed hundreds of Israelis.

The Washington Post and several other newspapers decided not to run a new Opus comic strip by Berkeley Breathed, because it mocked radical Islam.
As always, everyone involved is talking about “sensitivity,” when the real motivation behind this craven incident of pre-emptive self-censorship is very obviously fear.

Washington Post, Other Newspapers Won’t Run ‘Opus’ Cartoon Mocking Radical Islam FOX
A popular comic strip that poked fun at the Rev. Jerry Falwell without incident one week ago was deemed too controversial to run over the weekend because this time it took a humorous swipe at Muslim fundamentalists.
The Washington Post and several other newspapers around the country did not run Sunday’s installment of Berkeley Breathed’s “Opus,” in which the spiritual fad-seeking character Lola Granola appears in a headscarf and explains to her boyfriend, Steve, why she wants to become a radical Islamist.
Sources told FOXNews.com that the strips were shown to Muslim staffers at The Washington Post to gauge their reaction, and they responded “emotionally” to the depiction of a woman dressed in traditional Muslim garb and espousing conservative Islamic views.

Amanpour will probably be exposed as an agent for Tehran if the criminal regime there ever falls. Her constant bleating on behalf of Islamania never ends. It figures she works at CNN (so many wonderful names come to mind with those letters)-a “news” agency that rivals Al Jazeera for Islamophilia and anti-Western hysterics.

Extreme Editorial Slant. The usual Secular Humanist slant that all religions are relatively the same. The effort you went to mask the violent tenants of one religion and distort the others to appear the same was revolting. If this is how you cover all your news stories I shall have to question why I pay for your cable channel with my provider. Perhaps a more ethical broadcast station can replace yours in the line up I PAY for.

Christiane Amanpour and her ilk denegrate and devalue the sufferring of real victims of terrorism, tyranny and misogyny.
To say that a dress code for a private religious college that requires women to wear skirts longer than their knees – is morally equivalent to the taliban requiring women to mask their identity in public by completely coverring their entire bodies, or that they must have written permission to leave their houses from their husbands or fathers, else face beatings or death – is absolutely abhorent and misogynistic.
Chessler’s rebuttal is spot on.
I hope this story gets CNN a lot of the negative input they deserve for distorting the truth.
I think it is interesting to see just how much of the media is now in islamist hands. This is going to make things harder and harder.
How about calling CNN?? Tie up their phones!! Get all your friends to do so. Plus, send the comments page to all of your friends and tell them to do the same.
The point that the “all religions are the same brigade” fail to mention or understand is that if a Christian commits an atrocity, he is going against the teachings of his religion, whereas if a muslim butchers a non muslim, he is following his religion.
