As Muslims get more involved in all kinds of different endeavors in the US, it is also necessary for there to be individuals who can be active in liberal arts. Communications for the sake of Islam happens in all kinds of ways. In the news, on the radio, and even acting on TV, or on Stage. Many people, especially from the orthodox Islamic religious community consider it frivolous and inappropriate to be involved in liberal arts. There is a need for Muslims to change their attitude.

They want an “accurate and balanced portrayal of Muslims in America and around the world”? What part of showing Muslims as terrorists do they disagree with? Car bombs, IED’s, doctors attempting to blow up airports, subway bombings, the beheading of Christian schoolgirls, the stoning of rape victims, etc: who else has been doing this stuff lately? Not the Amish, not the Mormons, not the atheists, not the Buddhists, not the Catholics, not the Jews, not the wiccans, not the animists…. no Methodists or Baptists or Confucians… this garbage is coming from Muslims. There! I said it! M-U-S-L-I-M-S. Muslims are doing this evil stuff in the name of Islam, and their holy book the Quran calls it good. The fellows at CAIR and MSA and MPAC and ISNA and OIC and MCB may just have to get used to the idea of reasonable people calling Islam a violent religion. You may want, really WANT the world to be flat. You may want, REALLY WANT, to be able to flap your arms and fly. And you may really, really, really want people to believe that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance. But truth is truth. Sorry, guys…
