GAZA, JANUARY 9 – Burning American flags, thousands of Palestinian protesters took to the Gaza streets this afternoon to protest against the visit of U.S. President George W. Bush. The protesters, ammassed by Hamas, brandished banners which defined Bush “assassin and vampire”. During the rally puppets of the American president were raised and then burned. Israeli flags were also burned. Eye witnesses reported at least 20,000 participants in the rally, promoted for several days also through appeals launched in the mosques. “Bush is not welcome,” a Hamas representative repeated from the platform. Members of the extremist movement pointed out that since his arrival at the Ben Gurion airport of Tel Aviv today, President Bush “made sure in his speech encouraging and backing the rights of Israel, without saying a single word on the Palestinian victims and on our rights”. Bush will meet tomorrow in Ramallah in the West Bank Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), who is in open conflict with Hamas, whereas he will not visit the Gaza Strip.

Islamic Jihad fires missiles to welcome Bush

Gaza : Salvos of missiles roared anew in direction of southern Israel on Wednesday and Israeli aircraft went into action to hit a location in the north of Gaza Strip where the rockets were unleashed.
Spokesman of the Israeli Army told Israel Radio five missiles were fired from the north of Gaza Strip targeting southern Israel. Three of the rockets crashed near the town of Zekim and two others near Sderot. The rockets caused no losses.
Al-Quds Brigades, military wing of Islamic Jihad, said it was responsible for firing the new salvo of missiles, adding that its attack was “in retaliation for US President George W Bush’s visit to the region due later today.” The National Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said it was responsible for hitting an Israeli military position with a rocket in eastern part of the strip.

Arab MPs demand Israel to build an ‘all-Arab’ city in Israel

Two Arab members of the Knesset have proposed the construction of an all-Arab city in Israel — called Galilee — to alleviate over-crowding and establish a modern, vibrant community for Arabs in the country.
“This city will be the first of its kind in Israel,” said Knesset member Hanna Sweed, who proposed the concept along with Ibrahim Sarsur.
“Unlike other Arab cities inside Israel like Nazareth, Haifa, and Jaffa—all a random development of small villages and still dominated by tribal divisions—this will be a modern, residential city and a center for cultural and social activities for the Arab minority,” Sweed said.
Sweed told AlArabiya.net that the northern region of Galilee is worst affected by population problems as there is “no room to accommodate the rapid growth.”

lol, they’re retaliating against something that hasn’t happened yet.
Hamas is sure doing a wonderful job running Gaza-all they do is demonstrate and shoot rockets. Those losers never do an honest day’s work and most likely never will. Not that Abu Mazen’s minions are any better, despite all the money “Dracula” and his pals have lavished on them.
