As I pointed out, heh, I work with the Japanese, the most racist people on earth - just try getting citizenship there if you don't have Japanese blood. But I presume that these Americans who rail against associating with racists are happy enough buying Toyotas and Sony TVs. I was wondering what might be going on to create such a reaction. Is it that there is an unexpressed, unspoken awareness that there is a <i>major</i> problem in progress with the African American population? Cities such as Detroit and St Louis - now overwhelmingly African American - have become cess-pits. Black neighborhoods in other cities are rife with crime and violence. These are simple, indisputable facts. But rather than face up to (what is a difficult problem to face up to) the American right (and left, of course) engage in an act of psychological displacement and transfer these real fears onto something which is actually less of a problem ("neo Nazis") and therefore reduce the power of the fear.
