Holocaust Day marred by stone-throwing

THE Holocaust Memorial Day marking the genocides of the 20th century was marred on Sunday when a gang of youths stoned Jewish tourists on a guided tour of London’s East End.

A group of 96 visitors looking at sites of Jewish interest were attacked by youths hiding behind a fence in a back street in Whitechapel.
Two were struck by the missiles, an American woman just starting a new post at London’s Metropolitan University and a Canadian lecturer.
The woman had blood pouring from her head and needed hospital treatment.
The tour was organised by leading local historian Clive Bettington, who was later asked by police if he wanted officers to accompany him in future, but declined.
“That would be admitting there are ‘no go’ areas,” he said.
“I won’t be intimidated. We have a right to walk our streets unmolested.”
He has now written to Tower Hamlets chief executive Martin Smith for an urgent meeting.
Sunday’s incident was outside a former Jewish maternity home in Underwood Road, now used as social services offices, which was on his tour as a place of interest where playwright Arnold Whesker and showbiz comedian Lionel Bart were born.

An eye-witness said: “Stones started to come down on us and some in the group were scared and ducked.
“I looked over the fence and saw four Asian youths throwing stones. They were laughing, then ran away.”

Why do people allow this?! If it were the reverse the police, or some other agency, would be all over it. This behavior needs to be punished.
They know very well what sets off muslims - all they have to do is set up a scene where there are those who can deal with this infiltrated among the crowd and then DO IT! implant military/police into these groups.
I find this behavior of no action on the part of the police, governments, military disgusting - as disgusting as the muslims doing the hateful behavior. And that is another point - it should be punished as a hate crime.
Non-muslims lob ham, cartoons (and this is only done after the violence has escalated) vs muslims beat, rape, lob stones, bombs, etc.

Just an opinion, but I think Mr. Bettington is making a mistake with regard to police protection. It would be admitting there are ‘no go’ areas, and that’s just what needs to be done. The police need to see this, with their own eyes, and, having seen it, they should be obligated to report it, as well–just as they would any other crime in progress.
As for not being intimidated, it’s an admirable sentiment, but he’s not being intimidated. He and his tour groups are being attacked. There’s a difference, Mr. Bettington. The difference is between the threat of throwing stones. and the actual throwing of stones.
He sounds like he’s in profound denial of what is happening.
Clive Bettington apparently charges about 8 Pounds a head for his walking tours, so
he might show some real concern for the safety of his groups. Perhaps he doesn’t
realise that the “Asian youths” are as much of a problem today as the “British Union
of Fascists” were in the ‘Battle of Cable Street’ that he also does walks on.
