Police have released details of a woman who attacked two pilots on a flight from Blenheim to Christchurch this morning.
The woman, who also made bomb threats, is a 33-year-old Blenheim resident.
Both pilots suffered knife wounds, one to the hand and the other to a foot, and are now in hospital. One passenger received a minor injury that was treated at the scene.
The woman, who police said was originally from Somalia, made bomb threats claiming there were two bombs on board the plane.

Abu Hamza al-Masri once led London’s Finsbury Park Mosque, which was attended by both Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui and “shoe bomber” Richard Reid. One top British counterterrorism official described the mosque as a “honeypot for extremists.”
The Egyptian-born al-Masri was arrested on a U.S. extradition warrant in 2004, but the process was put on hold while he stood trial in Britain and appealed his convictions.
The Home Secretary today has signed an order approving the extradition,” a Home Office spokesman said, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with department policy.
Al-Masri has 14 days to appeal. If he does not, he will be sent to the U.S. within 28 days, the spokesman said.

House Bill 100, known as “An Act Prohibiting the Use of the Words ‘Muslim’ and ‘Christian in Mass Media to describe any Person Suspected of or Convicted for Having Committed Criminal or Unlawful Acts, and Providing Penalties for Violation Thereof” was introduced by Muslim Congressman, Representative Yusop Jikiri (pictured) from the southern Philippine Island of Mindanao and passed Congress on Feb 5.
According to the Filipino press, Jikiri told Congress his bill was “a defining law which will finally end the stereotyping of Muslims as kidnappers, drug pushers [and] terrorists.”

Gramfan, on ABC TV 7pm news, it was mentioned that the perp was known to police and
muslims in Blenheim (words to that effect), but it didn’t show up on line.
Now ABC News has it that she is well-known to police and authorities in Blenheim, Christchurch and Wellington, but no mention of the M Word. Be interesting what form she’s got, & what
the “justice” system did with her before this episode.
Perp update – she is well known to the Blenheim muslim “community”, but they vehemently
deny she is a practicing muslim (so don’t make us play our victim cards by linking her to
