Iran's War Against the Jews

Seven ancient synagogues in Tehran burnt to the ground:

*  Jahiliyya Update: The artifacts of the pre-Islamic period or non-Islamic cultures are, to traditional Islam, worthless trash — the society of unbelievers. “Iran: Seven historic synagogues in Tehran destroyed,” from AKI (thanks DW):

Tehran, 15 April (AKI) – Seven ancient synagogues in the Iranian capital, Tehran, have been destroyed by local authorities.
The synagogues were in the Oudlajan suburb of Tehran, where many Iranian Jews used to live.

* 1948 Jewish population: 100,000 ,         2008: ~18.000

“These buildings, which were part of our cultural, artistic and architectural heritage were burnt to the ground,” said Ahmad Mohit Tabatabaii, the director of the International Council of Museums’ (ICOM) office in Tehran.

“With the excuse of renovating this ancient quarter, they are erasing a part of our history,” said Tabatabaii….

*  As the Muslim warlord said of the library in the conquered city of Alexandria:

“If what is contained here agrees with the Koran, we don’t need it;

if it disagrees with the Koran we don’t want it. Destroy it all!~”

Islamic ‘logic’.

  1. Those Jews have a lot of balls to continue living in a muslim country. I’d a got the hell out of Iran way back in 1979. What are they too broke to leave?

  2. el greco

    I am not sure if they are able to leave.Sheik might know about that.

    I also think it is pure tokenism by the Iranians to be able to say “we let Jews live here”. I saw a doco about the Jews in Iran. They have their own hospital. Guess who goes out of their way to get in? Yep,,muslims.

    I think it is about time Jews and Christians got together to protest the destruction of churches and synagogues in muslim lands. Failing that, perhaps we should fight fire with fire?

    Reciprocity is needed, badly!
