Jihad By The Pen
Newsweek Editor Declares America #2
Fareed Zakarias Jihad by the Pen
In the latest edition of Newsweek, Fareed Zakaria writes, “The world has shifted from anti-Americanism to post-Americanism,” and goes on to describe the ‘rise of the rest’ of the world.
* Fareed Zakaria, like Tariq Ramadan, is an agent of Islamintern behind enemy lines. He has been manufacturing Muhammedan agit prop at Newsweep for many years now…
Fitzgerald:
Jihad is not limited to the instrument of violence. Muslims write all the time about the varied instruments of “Jihad” to spread Islam: “pen, speech” (propaganda, or Da’wa), “wealth” (the money weapon, from boycotts and bribes, to the building of mosques, to the buying of armaments that Muslims cannot produce, to the buying up of Western hirelings to promote the goals of Muslims, both in Dar al-Islam and in Dar al-Harb). And, most recently, over the past 30 years, all the discussion about the weapon of demographic conquest, which was openly mentioned by Boumedienne at the U.N. in 1974 (“we will conquer you through the bellies of our women” or words to that effect).
The word “Jihad” is the correct word, the word that does not hide, but helps reveal, all the instruments being used to spread Islam until it everywhere dominates, and Muslims rule.

Qur’an 2:216 “Jihad (holy fighting in Allah’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.” [Another translation reads:] “Warfare is ordained for you.”
Qur’an 4:95 “Not equal are those believers who sit at home and receive no injurious hurt, and those who strive hard, fighting Jihad in Allah’s Cause with their wealth and lives. Allah has granted a rank higher to those who strive hard, fighting Jihad with their wealth and bodies to those who sit (at home). Unto each has Allah promised good, but He prefers Jihadists who strive hard and fight above those who sit home. He has distinguished his fighters with a huge reward.”

* According to scholar Bassam Tibi, “at its core, Islam is a religious mission to all humanity. Muslims are religiously obliged to disseminate the Islamic faith throughout the world. “We have sent you forth to all mankind” (Q. 34:28). If non-Muslims submit to conversion or subjugation, this call (da’wa) can be pursued peacefully. If they do not, Muslims are obliged to wage war against them. In Islam, peace requires that non-Muslims submit to the call of Islam, either by converting or by accepting the status of a religious minority (dhimmi) and paying the imposed poll tax, jizya.”

Italian President defends Israel book fair in Italy
Thomas Lifson via the American Thinker
The European left hates Israel. Never mind oppression of women, hatred of homosexuals, and reliance on the worst sort of thuggery by the Palestinians. They are progressive darlings because they are oppressed and they hate capitalism (and Jews, of course). Fortunately, Italian president Napolitano is not afraid to stand up to them. AP reports:
Italy’s president on Monday defended his decision to open a book fair in Turin honoring Israeli writers, despite calls for a boycott by some Arab and Italian intellectuals angered by the event.
President Giorgio Napolitano’s planned appearance at Thursday’s inauguration of the fair is in line with his participation in many cultural events, his office said in a statement. [....]
Italy’s presidency was reacting mainly to the Italian media quoting Muslim scholar Tariq Ramadan as saying Monday that Napolitano’s plan to open the Turin fair is a mistake.
“His presence shows that this is a political event, and not only a cultural event,” the ANSA news agency quoted Ramadan as saying at a news conference in Turin.

Post-Americanism is OK by me. No nation ever stays number one forever. However, the author may be indulging in wishful thinking because even though the US isn’t what it was 50 years ago there are plenty of people in the world who want to emulate many things American.
On the other hand (except for mental cases) who in the world really wants to emulate anything Koranic?
