In a dastardly attack, the biggest in Jammu region since 2002, militants struck in the border town of Samba, killing five people, including a woman hostage and a photojournalist.

Two militants holed up in a house were killed on Sunday evening after a fierce, 13-hour encounter. The militants had taken six people, including women and children, hostage….
From within the house, they opened fire and lobbed grenades at the policemen outside. This was followed by a fierce 13-hour encounter. The way the militants were firing through windows and targeting soldiers and policemen, indicated they were trained in urban guerrilla warfare. In a gruesome sight, the militants threw the body of a woman hostage out.
In the gun battle, a soldier and a photojournalist were killed. While the soldier died fighting militants, press photographer Ashok Sodhi of the Daily Excelsior was shot dead when he attempted to take a picture of the house where from militants were firing.
* Lets say: unless the Hindu’s are willing to fight for it and take it back in a bloody house to house and man to man battle it won’t happen. But don’t believe me and my crystal ball, because we’re silly Islamophobes and bigots… did I forget the racist? Just tell me: which race is Islam again?

Guard’s throat cut in front of shoppers
A SECURITY guard’s throat was slashed in front of hundreds of shoppers in broad daylight on one of London’s busiest shopping streets.
Terrified shoppers ran screaming after the man in his 20s was stabbed with a flick knife then had his throat cut, just metres from Oxford Circus just after 4.30pm local time (1.30am AEST), the Daily Mail reported.
His attackers then dropped the knife on the pavement and fled.
It is believed the security guard had ejected young men from a shop on Oxford Street before they returned to attack him.
Police closed off part of the street while paramedics battled to save the man’s life. He was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
