Japan says Muslim offense at cartoon ‘regrettable’
Tokyo: The government said in a statement Friday that it is ‘‘regrettable’’ that a section of a Japanese cartoon has sparked an outcry in the Muslim world and stressed the need to foster understanding to prevent similar incidents in the future. ‘‘While it resulted from carelessness, the Japanese government considers it regrettable that Muslims’ feelings were hurt by the content of some of the cartoon,’’ Foreign Ministry Press Secretary Kazuo Kodama said. ‘‘In any case, we think it is important to prevent a recurrence by fostering understanding and respect for other religions and cultures.’’

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is an ongoing Anime/Manga cartoon series produced byShueisha & A.P.P.P. of Japan, and recently they made and inadvertent mistake. They pictured a villain vowing to kill the hero while reading pages from the Quran. The series is old, but seething is eternal, here’s the Fatwa Committeewho’s raising the stink.
The scene from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, adapted from a comic strip published from 1987 to 2003, generated angry responses on more than 300 Arab and Islamic Internet forums, with many accusing Japan of insulting the Koran, Kyodo said.

Continued:
The statement came a day after Japanese publisher Shueisha Inc and Another Push Pin Planning Co, which created the animated images, apologized for offending Muslims but insisted the detail had simply been overlooked and there was no intention of showing any disrespect for the Quran. At issue is a 90-second segment from ‘‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,’’ which depicts Dio Brando, a villain, picking up a Quran from a bookshelf and apparently examining it as he orders the execution of the hero and his friends.

* Meanwhile, in Seattle the notorious CAIR, a Hamas & Muslim Brotherhood front group, (Council on American Islamic Relations) is doing what it always does —sabotaging efforts to educate law enforcers about Islamic terrorism:
Does course on Islam give law enforcers wrong idea?
And again, the Seattle Times quotes representatives of CAIR without a single word about their ties to terrorist groups or their status as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding trial.

Might be worth noting that the Japanese translator for “Satanic Verses” was actually murdered.
It doesn’t matter if Japan has a sizable Muslim population or not. In 1991, Muslims infiltrated Tokyo and murdered Hitoshi Igarashi, the Japanese translator of Satanic Verses.

The murderer(s) were never caught. This incident is still fresh in the minds of the Japanese. (Especially with publishers.)
Some more information on this story:
1) This anime wasn’t even released in the Middle East, these Muslims came about it through illegal filesharing. They weren’t even paying customers.
2) JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is being pulled worldwide, not just Japan. It’s even being pulled in the good ole’ USA just to appease Islamofascists:
