What have they got to hide?

Reports concern Muslims

By H.G. Reza, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

Alleged checks on San Diego, L.A. mosques spark calls for hearings.

* Muslims complain and the ACLU  springs into action:

*  ACLU demands  congressional hearings on  why mosques are under surveillance: shouldn’t we monitor the churches, the synagogues and the Buddhist temples also? If not, why not? All religions are equally bad, right?

* Some people don’t think so. In fact they think it would be criminal negligence NOT to monitor the mosques since we know already that Saudis have radicalized 80% of US mosques

A report that mosques in Los Angeles and San Diego are under federal surveillance has resurrected fears in the Muslim community about government monitoring and led two civil rights groups Wednesday to call for congressional hearings.

*  ACLU lawyers regularly go to mosques to advise worshipers that they do not have to answer questions from FBI agents about how long they have been in the United States, how often they attend services and what they get out of the sermons, Ripston said.

Collective dumbing down in the MSM:

“Words matter”: Homeland Security rolls out newspeak campaign, cautions against use of terms like “jihadists,” “Islamic terrorists,” “Islamists” and “holy warriors”

Again, we see the argument that using those terms somehow “legitimizes” or “aggrandizes” the jihadist movement. But honestly, is the public deflection of the Islamic aspect of Islamic jihad going to hinder jihadists from making the connection, or will it hinder ordinary citizens seeking information? Obviously, it will be the latter. And when the public is discouraged from understanding the jihadist enemy’s ideology, whom does that ultimately help?

An update on the new governmental lexicon of acceptable terms for talking about… you know. And that was a story that Jihad Watch broke here, by the way. “Agency urges caution with terrorist language,” from CNN, May 31:

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Government officials should depict terrorists “as the dangerous cult leaders they are” and avoid words that aggrandize them, like “jihadists,” “Islamic terrorists,” “Islamists” and “holy warriors,” the Department of Homeland Security says in a paper released Friday.

* More stupidity and willful blindness from the chief of homeland security:

Chertoff: “Islam has been hijacked by ideologues”

*  How does one hijack the religion of hijackers?

Almost seven years have passed since 9/11, and we’re hearing the same thing from our leaders that we’ve heard since 9/12. It is a reminder that, at the highest level of government, policy decisions are driven — hijacked, if you will — by willful blindness to the roots of the ideology that motivates not only al-Qaeda, but is also common to Hizballah, Hamas, and other jihadist groups. Does anyone at the State Department, Homeland Security, or elsewhere, ever puzzle at how ingrained and widespread jihadist activity is, even outside of the Wahhabi sphere of influence, if it’s supposedly all just a big misunderstanding and “hijacking” of an otherwise peaceful belief system?

  1. * Government officials should depict terrorists “as the dangerous cult leaders they are” …

Interesting. Which cult are the terrorists leading? Scientology? Perhaps the Department of Homeland Security didn’t think that wording through … then again, perhaps they did, but I
doubt it. Anyway, they are right about the cult & its dangerous leaders, even if by accident.

  2. Religion and the color of ones skin are the BIG problems in this world.
Forget about religion, everybody knows basicly what is wrong or right and
please become colorblind. It is not what’s on the outside of ones body,
    but how you are inside.
How many wars are you willing to fight about these issues, have their not enough blood been spilled.
I don’t want my children and grandchildren having too face more wars about these issues.
All the money what have been wasted with these wars. All that money could be spend for so many other things. More food without all the antibiotics, hormones and pesticides, clean water, health care, help for the elderly, housing, education a real program for no child will be left behind, rebuilding bridges and highways, more oil being produced so the prices will come down, building more refinaries and/or update the old ones, alternatives for oil and so many more issues.
Doing this it will crete a lot of jobs. Paying for labor is better than using it for war.
The war machine is greating jobs, but many more jobs could be created to start with the previous mentioned things.
Is it not worth a try???
Right now he gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider. This will create only unrest and creates again wars and revolutions.
We have natural disaster enough, so much help is needed for those people caught in such a disaster in their lives. Helping poorer nations getting out of poverty which greates illness what can affect the whole world.

  3. hence those who view mohammed as a good man cannot be accepted as moderates…which is what our inane governments are doing, to our detriment.

Imagine this scenario with hitler. moderate nazis would be those that think hitler was a good man who wrote a good book. extremist nazis would be following his orders. our governments would hire the moderate nazis to run our intelligence services to stamp out those fighting for hitler.

the moderate nazis turn around and tell our governments that we ought not to call this a war against nazism, since nazism is good, and hitler is a good man…but we ought to call it a war against non nazis, since the nonnazis give the nazis a bad name…

  5. Or maybe the government know fully well how evil Islam is, and is in their pocket, like the mafia.
