French youths clash with police

Lille – Dozens of French youths clashed with police in a town in northeast France overnight, burning cars during a rampage triggered by the killing of a 22-year-old man, an official said on Sunday.

Two police officers, two firefighters and five residents suffered minor injuries during the violence that raged until Sunday morning in Vitry-le-Francois, said Sylvaine Astic from the regional prefect’s office.
Armed with baseball bats and firebombs, about 50 youths went on a rampage, torching cars and setting fire to garbage bins in the town of 17 000 people, Astic told AFP.
The violence started around 22:00 (20:00 GMT) after the 22-year-old man was gunned down in Vitry-le-Francois. A suspect was arrested overnight.
About 60 police officers were dispatched to the town late on Saturday and remained in Vitry-le-Francois on Sunday.
A police union issued a statement denouncing what it termed as “hysteria” in relations between French youth and police.
“This started out as a murderous settling of scores,” said Nicolas Comte of the SGP-FO police union.
“But quickly this tragic event prompted a violent group to attack police with baseball bats and molotov cocktails as young bystanders watched passively, like spectators to the ‘riot show’,” said Comte.
He linked the latest outbreak to the 2005 suburban riots, France’s worst unrest in decades, when poor immigrant-heavy areas around Paris and other major cities exploded into three weeks of violence.
“Nothing has been resolved since. The fire is still burning under the ashes,” said Comte.
About 250 people took part in a silent march in Vitry-le-Francois on Sunday, led by the victim’s mother who wept as she walked holding a photograph of her son through the low-income neighbourhood of Rome-Saint-Charles.
The last time there was major rioting was in the Paris suburb of Villiers-le-Bel in November when two teenagers riding a motorbike died after they collided with a police car. The incident led to three days of riots.
More than 100 police officers were injured in Villiers-le-Bel when rioters armed with hunting rifles and pellet guns opened fire, a new, worrisome turn in the ongoing clashes with police in the suburbs.

I have a real hard time feeling any sympathy for the French.
For the past 200+ years, virtually all the murderous mischief in the world can be traced back to France in general and Paris [Sorbonne] in particular.
Ho Chi Minh, Pol Pot and a host of other murderous leftist intellectuals were “educated” at the Sorbonne.
Trotsky, Lenin, Zinoviev, Kamenev, Radek and many other Bolshevik butchers found sanctuary and inspiration there whilst plotting the rape of Mother Russia.
A little known fact: While Germany is excoriated for starting both world wars, France and Russia mobilized their troops before Germany in WWI, and Hitler was only elected Chancellor due to the perceived threat of Stalin’s repeated attempts to start a “Socialist Revolution” in the eastern tier of Europe.
Considering France’s well documented history of Intellectual vapidity, Political cravenness, Physical cowardess, spiritual aimlessness and pragmatic treachery,
the idea of France spending the next two or three hundred years as dhimmis under the bloody tyranny of Sharia is something I find to be quite acceptable and even amusing.
A sort of “rough justice”, if you will………………………

I agree with your comment and sentiments. We have listened to the snobbish French insults of other western nations for decades for not being “civilized” and “cultured”, meaning multicultural and an open society to all ideologies without criticism.
Look at them now!

The only support I believe the French deserve is, metaphorically speaking, that, they are like the outer bastion walls of the western fortress. True the enemy is now within, but the bulk of the army lingers outside the walls, waiting for a breach such as France.
On a purely rational and poetic justice level, France should be left to burn for its arrogance and foolhardiness.
Unfortunately, unlike with the Nazi’s it may too late to save France this time around……..Se la vie……
On my last trip several years ago to France I could not believe the number of damned Muslims I saw in Paris. When I was in Paris twenty five years earlier I didn’t see any Muslims. Now every third child born in France is a Muslim. Around Paris half of the members of the city councils (whatever they call them) are Muslims. France has really screwed itself, and so has all of Western Europe and the UK. I hoped that after 911 America would shut down Muslim immigration into the US but then there is ‘religion of peace’ Bush. I worry that Obama wins the election; read this from Phyllis Chesler at Chester Chronicles: “My friend and colleague, the scholar Bat Ye’or told me that if Obama is elected, America will become dhimmified even faster than Europe.”
If Obama wins the election America is screwed. Even if McCain wins we are still mostly screwed.

I’d have to agree I’m very sad to say, especially if Obama became president. I never felt it before, and fearing that I sound like a “right wing nut” I’m now strongly starting to believe that there will be serious war in the streets of western countries in the future. Not the urban flashes of “Asian youths” in European countries that we see today, but the out lash of whole western communities feeling they have nowhere left to run.
The US I believe will be an utter future chaos’s. Not only with Muslim issues, but an explosion of multiple racial riots between many ethnicities Latino verses black (we see the beginnings already in LA), everyone verses white, Chinese Afghan, Korean you name it. Lighting the wick of this powder keg will be Islam, savoring the political vacuum to come.
Trey Cruz, you should add Ayatollah Khomeini to the list of misfits given refugee by the French.
Ironically none of these nasty characters ever thanked the French for having them when no one else including their own people wanted them. I doubt many Cambodians or Iranians would be appreciative of French today.
