Well educated, prosperous Muslims make better Jihadists

MALKIN: Diplomas won’t make the jihad go away

*  Michelle Malkin bemoans the ongoing blind, deaf and dumb Kumbaya liberalism and the old chestnut about ‘poverty breeds terrorism’ which just doesn’t seem to go away….

In all the brouhaha over the New Yorker’s satirical cover cartoon of Barack and Michelle Obama, a truly “tasteless and offensive” passage in the magazine’s feature article got lost. The magazine piece quotes Mr. Obama’s recommendations for how to stop jihad, which he had previously published in a local Chicago newspaper eight days after Sept. 11, 2001. It’s a self-parody of blind, deaf and dumb Kumbaya liberalism.

* Jihad because of poverty? You gotta be kidding, mate…

“We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.”

Is this man for real? Osama bin Laden’s murderous legions are plenty able to “imagine” the “suffering of others.” Go watch an al Qaeda beheading snuff video. Just Google it or surf YouTube. Imagining the suffering of infidels is covered amply in basic Jihadi Training 101.

For her efforts at staying the course and telling the truth, Michelle is vilified like no other: google ‘Michelle Malkin’ and click on images, you’ll find a huge array of mad smear-jobs depicting her as an evil hate-monger. The perfidy of the left knows no bounds…

You’ll note that Mr. Obama’s fresh instinct in the week after the Sept. 11 attack was to diagnose it as a “tragedy” stemming from lack of “empathy” and “understanding” - instead of the deliberate, carefully planned evil act of the long Islamic war on the West that it was.

As for Mr. Obama’s continued delusion about the “climate of poverty and ignorance” that supposedly breeds Muslim terrorists, can American politicians ever rid themselves of this unreality-based trope? This belief is part and parcel of the same idiocy that led the State Department to embrace “spa days” for Muslims to “build bridges” with the Arab world and President Bush to open up our aviation schools to more Saudi students to “improve understanding.”

Sen. John McCain also alluded to education-as-cure for Islamic terrorism at the Los Angeles World Affairs Council in March, when he declared, “In this struggle, scholarships will be far more important than smart bombs.” Just what we need: more student visas for the jihadi-infested nation that sent us the bulk of the Sept. 11 hijackers.

Author and National Review Online blogger Mark Steyn’s sharp rejoinder to Mr. McCain then applies to Mr. Obama now: “There’s plenty of evidence out there that the most extreme ‘extremists’ are those who’ve been most exposed to the West – and Western education: from Osama bin Laden (summer school at Oxford, punting on the Thames) and Mohamed Atta (Hamburg University urban planning student) to the London School of Economics graduate responsible for the beheading of Daniel Pearl.

The idea that handing out college scholarships to young Saudi males and getting them hooked on Starbucks and car-chase movies will make this stuff go away is ridiculous – and unworthy of a serious presidential candidate.”

Ayman al-Zawahri didn’t need more education or wealth to steer him away from Islamic imperialism and working toward a worldwide caliphate. He has a medical degree. So does former Hamas biggie Abdel al-Rantissi. Seven upper-middle-class jihadi doctors were implicated in the 2007 London-Glasgow bombings. Suspected al Qaeda scientist Aafia Siddiqui, still wanted by the FBI for questioning, is a Pakistani who studied microbiology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and did graduate work in neurology at Brandeis.

And as I’ve reported before and must reiterate for the hard of hearing in Washington, lowering academic standards at American colleges helped al Qaeda mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed further the jihadi cause. In the early 1980s, he enrolled at tiny Chowan College in Murfreesboro, N.C., which had dropped its English requirements to attract – ahem – wealthy Middle Easterners. At Chowan, Mohammed bonded with other Arab Muslim foreign students known as the “Mullahs” for their religious zeal. He then transferred to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering along with 30 other Muslims.

Mohammed applied his Western learning to oversee the 1993 World Trade Center bombing plot (six Americans dead), the USS Cole attack (17 American soldiers dead) and the Sept. 11 attacks (3,000 dead). He has also been linked to the 1998 African embassy bombings (212 dead, including 12 Americans), the plot to kill the pope, the murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl and the Bali nightclub blast that killed nearly 200 tourists, including two more Americans.

Perhaps bleeding-heart Barack Obama thinks a master’s degree in social work would have convinced poverty-stricken, helpless, ignorant, despairing Mohammed to change his mind?

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

Thanks Michelle – a good article – now we have to make our poltiicans understand what it means.

Let’s explore the standard “Root Causes” arguments:

1) Poverty causes terrorism. Which would explain why it’s not only impoverished Muslims who blow people up and behead them. It’s also impoverished Aboriginals, Native Americans and Sub-Saharans.

Or maybe not. Indeed some of the greatest Islamic terrorists are billionaires. Arafat and Bin Laden come to mind.

2) Occupation causes terrorism. Which would explain why the brutally occupied Tibetans are constantly firing rockets into mainland China and teaching their children that the Chinese are the sons of pigs and monkeys, and they should aspire to pushing China into the sea and dying in the name of Buddha.

Or maybe not.

3) Israeli treatment of the Palestinians. Ah yes, this old chestnut. Except, it doesn’t explain why not a single *Christian* Palestinian has ever blown himself up. Ever. Only the Muslims.

How freakin’ hard is it to work out, that when wealthy, educated Muslims are murdering non-Muslims, yet uneducated, impoverished, occupied non-Muslims, aren’t murdering anyone, it’s time to re-consider the ‘root cause’.

The root cause of Islamic terror is, of course, Islam.

Thanks for that, Daniel!
