With Islam comes Shariah law. This is the framework or rules and regulations enforced in Islamic theocracies as “law.” Examples of authoritarian Shariah law include: requirement of women to obtain permission from husbands for daily freedoms; beating of disobedient woman and girls; execution of homosexuals; engagement of polygamy and forced child marriages; the testimony of four male witnesses to prove rape; honor killings of those, principally women, who have dishonored the family; death to apostate Muslims who chose to leave Islam; inferior status of non-Muslims, and capital punishment for those who “slander Islam.” This is what Islam replaces freedom with wherever Muslims succeed in taking over – Shariah law at its finest absurdity.

Malaysia ‘aware’ Thai insurgents hiding out

The government of Malaysia knows that extremists from southern Thailand have crossed the border to take refuge in Malaysia, media reported from that country on Wednesday.

Last week, Thai authorities said three insurgents had fled into Malaysia to try to hide among either extremist sympathisers or the general Malaysian population.

The New Straits Times quoted “sources” in the border town of Kota Baru as saying authorities “are aware of the presence of several suspected Thai militants” in the upper east coast provinces of Kelantan and Terengganu.

Both provinces have many residents who are sympathetic to the separatist demands of the Thailand-based insurgents and terrorists.

“Sources said the authorities had been monitoring these groups for the past few years but had yet to take any action against them as they were living here legitimately and had not committed any offence,” said the national newspaper.

“The men are also believed to have dual identity cards.”

Earlier reports said three religious teachers known as ustaz and four other Thai men had fled to Malaysia to escape arrest in connection with a series of bombings in the deep South.

“Kelantan police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi declined to comment on the matter, saying that it was a sensitive issue,” according to the reports on Wednesday. (compiled by BangkokPost.com)

“PM announces he will resign after Kadima elects new leader,”

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert held a special press conference on Wednesday at 8 p.m. where he announced he will not run in the Kadima primary scheduled to take place in September.Olmert said he would resign from office upon selection of a successor, and would allow his successor to attempt to form a coalition.

The premier lashed out at his political adversaries without naming any of them - either from Kadima or other parties - personally.

Olmert opened his speech by expressing his pride to be a citizen of Israel: “As a citizen in a democracy I have always believed that when a person is elected prime minister in Israel, even those who opposed him in the ballot want him to succeed.

“But instead I found myself subjected to constant investigations and criticism. Almost from day one, I had to repel personal attacks and postpone decisions that are pertinent to the security of the State.”

Olmert then proceeded to recount the successes of his premiership: “And yet, Israel’s position has improved.

“The North enjoys tranquility; Israel’s deterrence has immeasurably improved. I am proud of these achievements,” he said.

Achievements? The North is threatened with imminent attack and the South is already under attack. And he is whining about personal attacks.

Prime Minister Olmert delivered this pathetic “appeasement” statement. He might be a liar and under numerous investigations, but when it comes to appeasing the enemy, he is, sadly, very consistent. This statement was a foreshadowing of the disasters which have come under his leadership in the past three years: the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit, the abduction and deaths of Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasswer, the failed Second Lebanon War and finally, the release of terrorist child-murderer Samir Kuntar in exchange for the already brutally murdered bodies of Regev and Goldwasser. This was the coup de grace of appeasing terrorists.

I completely oppose the actions and policies of the Israeli government and, inevitably, some of the people of Israel, as they sanctioned their leadership in carrying out this deal. When the Israeli government released Samir Kuntar, it was a defeat of enormous import for the spirit and will of the Jewish people. I hang my head in shame.

Palistan Bankrupt?

Could it be that the world’s largest recipient of foreign aid per capita with the expert suit-and-tie-clad businessman at its helm is going bankrupt? That’s what the ‘Palestinian Authority‘ is telling the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday morning. The reason for the ‘bankruptcy’? No, of course it’s not that they spent more than they took in. It’s that they didn’t take in enough. You see, many of the ‘donor countries’ - especially the Arab ones - haven’t been ponying up their money now that a barrel of oil ‘only’ costs $126 instead of $147….

The officials told The Jerusalem Post that the PA wouldn’t be able to pay July salaries to more than 150,000 public servants and may be forced to close down several government institutions as a result of the deepening crisis.

I know one place they could cut back - they could stop paying ‘salaries‘ for all their ‘employees‘ in Gaza who haven’t come to work in over a year. At least 40% of the ‘Palestinian Authority’s ‘budget’ is spent in Gaza, which they do not even control.

The officials disclosed that the deficit in the PA budget has risen in the past six months from $1.6 billion to $2b.

“We are facing a real crisis,” a top PA official told the Post, adding “we are on the brink of bankruptcy.”
