Looking for that elusive ‘moderate Muslim’

Howard Galganov has sparked outrage in the Muslim community after the independent federal election candidate said he wants “open access” to all mosques and educational institutions to make sure they aren’t teaching hatred of other religions and cultures.

Canuckistan: Monitoring mosques is ‘racist’-continued

Nadeem Chaudhry, a member of the Pakistani Muslim Association of Cornwall, said he was “really upset to hear those comments” and is calling for Galganov to call off his candidacy.

Galganov essentially blamed the Islamic religion for the attacks on New York City and Washington, D. C. in 2001 by saying “9/11 (wasn’t) pulled off by a bunch of blue-eyed, blond-haired kids.”

* if Galganov said that it would indeed be a big mistake as it invokes race. Its the ideology that made them do it/ed

The comment was made in response to a question regarding why he was pushing for access to mosques such as Jami Masjid Zakaria in Cornwall and the Al- Rashid Institute in Glen Walter in his platform.

The other candidates called Galganov’s idea racist, offensive and disgraceful, to name a few. Members of the crowd were both shocked and appalled. But some supported his stance.

Chaudhry defended Galganov’s right to free speech, but couldn’t understand why he would blame Muslims for 9/11 “without any concrete reason.” (there are more than 3000 ‘concrete reasons’/ed)

“What he said gives out the wrong message,” Chaudhry said. “It starts hatred in people because it gives them the wrong impression of Islam.”

* can’t have that. The infidels must be kept unawares of what Islam has in store for them…

Muslims around the world suffered wrongly for the events of 9-11, according to Chaudhry, but he insists Islam is a very peaceful religion. (I would like to see some ‘concrete proof’ for that/ed)

He thinks Galganov’s answer could, legally speaking, be considered a human rights violation, slander or, at the very least, a form of religious hatred.

Chaudhry attends both the institute and the local mosque, which has been operating in the community for 20 years.

While Chaudhry recognizes there are extremist Muslims, he says all religions have worshippers who wrongly use violence in defense of their religion.

He said Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler ordered the deaths of millions of people during the Second World War, but no one called him an “extremist Christian.” (the usual Muzz-bullshit. Hitler didn’t committ crimes in the name of Christianity/ed)

Chaudhry pointed out Galganov’s assertion blond, blue-eyed people did not perpetrate the terrorist attacks was kind of ironic because it mirrored Hitler’s description of the Aryan race, his idea of the perfect people.

Sayed Hafizi, a local business owner from Afghanistan, was at the debate and deeply offended.

“I didn’t feel good about what he was saying,” Hafizi said. “I wanted to stop him from talking because he was talking about my religion.”

“He was saying all Muslims are bad, but we are like any people. We have good and bad people. If I was a bad person, they would have asked me to leave Canada.”

Hafizi has been living in Canada for 20 years. Mazhar Alam, the imam at the Jami Masjid Zakaria mosque, could not be reached for comment.

“The doors are open to everyone,” he said.

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

Since 9/11 has there been one single day that we know for certain had no Koranist atrocity take place anywhere in the world? Somehow, I think that day is as elusive as the moderate Koranist.

Nope – the muslims commit atrocities on a daily basis and then play the victim game when asked to take responsibility for their actions. I think we should start treating them as they richly deserve.
