£86million scheme to prevent Muslim radicalisation is ‘gravy train’ for local groups

* Throwing money at “Radical Islam” in the hope that the violent texts of the Koran will vanish in the ozone? Wasting billions of taxpayers money in the vain hope it will pacify those who are religiously obliged to wage war on infidels until the world is Islamic? WTF is wrong with these people? What stops them from reading the texts that drive Muslims to kill and conquer?

More from the “dumber than dirt” department:

An £86 million scheme designed to prevent the radicalisation of young British Muslims is being used as a “gravy train” by some community groups, it has been claimed.

The “Preventing Violent Extremism fund” allows councils to give money to local projects in the hope that they will prevent teenagers turning to dangerous forms of Islam.

It was launched by the former Communities Secretary, Ruth Kelly, last year and since then has seen £6m spent on trial schemes.

But critics claim large sums of money are being given to projects that do not meet its specific objectives, and are being handed out to community groups without councillors considering them first.

* Propaganda stunts:

A BBC investigation disclosed that grants of up to £30,000 are being distributed by Birmingham City Council for projects such as a photographic exhibition of positive images of the city’s Muslims, and a conference to allow community organisations to meet policy-makers. (that’s like spraying perfume on a turd in the hope the stench goes away/ed)

One woman who was given funding totalling £7,000 said she did not feel the work she did was an effective use of the money.

She told Radio 4′s Today programme: “I did feel at the time that the amount of money I was being offered was rather large for the kind of work and it made me concerned about who gets the money and how they were checking these funds were going to be effectively used.”

Cllr Salma Yaqoob from the Respect party added: “It seems to me that the Preventing Violent Extremism agenda is being used as a gravy train for those willing to toe the Government line, regardless of effectiveness on the ground.”

But Cllr Alan Rudge, who is in charge of PVE money for Birmingham, insisted there had been wide consultation on how best to spend the cash in areas such as work with young people and women, the media and Islamic groups.

Hazel Blears, the Communities Secretary, also defended the use of the cash, saying: “We have got to work with local authorities. They know their communities and increasingly the councillors are showing political leadership on it and they are now seeing what works.

Imam Hazel Blears:

“What I want to do is strengthen the mainstream moderate Muslims in this country, who are the overwhelming majority, but also those vulnerable youngsters so they have the ability to say ‘You are extreme. Your version of my faith is not correct. I don’t want to be part of that’. That’s difficult, it’s long-term, but we are ahead of many countries across the world in the work we are doing here.”

* Hazel Blears didn’t say who these “moderate Muslims” are and in which way the faith of the “not so moderate” ones is wrong. Wonder why nobody asked her…/ed

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

All forms of Islamania are dangerous-some being worse than others. Trying to prevent radicalization is like trying to avoid plague among millions of fleas without getting rid of the rats carrying them.
