Dems target right-wing talk radio

“We are coming to rule and to regulate you”- update:

Will the US be under totalitarian rule soon? The un-Democratic Socialists are launching an all out assault on the airwaves to perpetuate Socialism: Just yesterday we reported: Now Willie Clitman is lobbying for the Fairness Doctrine

Rep. Maurice Hinchey is targeting right-wing radio.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — More and More Democrats in Congress are calling for action that Republicans warn could muzzle right-wing talk radio.

Representative Maurice Hinchey, a Democrat from New York is the latest to say he wants to bring back the “Fairness Doctrine,” a federal regulation scrapped in 1987 that would require broadcasters to present opposing views on public issues.

“I think the Fairness Doctrine should be reinstated,” Hinchey told CNNRadio. Hinchey says he could make it part of a bill he plans to introduce later this year overhauling radio and t-v ownership laws.

Listen: Hinchey says he wants to make talk-radio “more fair”- (like CNN and CNBC???)

* The chutzpah of these totalitarian Socialist swine is unbelievable…

Democratic Senators Debbie Stabenow of Michigan and Tom Harkin of Iowa added their voices recently to those calling for a return of the regulation.

Republicans oppose the Fairness Doctrine, arguing it would be wrong for the federal government to monitor political speech on the airwaves, in order to require opposing views.

Republican Congressman Greg Walden, a former owner of five radio stations in Oregon including a “classic rock” station joked that the Fairness Doctrine is “the musical equivalent” of “every time we’d play a classic rock song we’d have to play a polka!”

Actually, ‘Right-Wing’ Talk Radio talks about the ‘Left-Wing’ positions all the time, when they describe them and explain the problems with them.
This will be a fight alright. I don’t think the Dems can pull off reinstating the Unfair ‘Fairness Doctrine’. Fascist fools. For one thing it’s (talk radio) too big an industry. It must employ Tens of thousands. NPR and Air America would also have to air conservative opinions.

And monitoring blogs and telling them to post opposing views like someone said a while back, is way, way beyond absurd and would be absolutely impossible to enforce as well.

It’s totally un-constitutional. If the Dems at first get their way, conservatives, starting with Michael Savage will sue NPR and Air America. The Supremes would eventually rule against it I believe.

Chucky Shmucky Schumer likened Conservative Talk Radio to Child Porn. How insane must he be? The main reason so-called ‘Liberal’ Talk Radio fails is that the so-called ‘Progressive’ doctrine is bankrupt, an empty suit. It’s not a lack of talent, it’s just that even most angry Libs eventually get bored of being told that Republicans, Bush, and America are evil.

The so-called ‘Liberals’ have no legitimate argument so they can only try to shut down the opposition. They have NO chance of ‘winning the argument’ based on facts, history, and logic.

All real freedom starts with freedom of speech. Without freedom of speech there can be no real freedom.
