Egypt Uses Swine Flu to Attack Christian Farmers, Kill Their Pigs
Egypt pressed ahead Monday with plans to kill all pigs in the country, amid rising concerns there that the animal considered unclean by Islam may cause a swine-flu epidemic.

First, I must note that I have little sympathy for Coptic Christians, who are mostly found in Egypt but are also elsewhere in the Arabic world. When it comes to choosing sides, the Copts have been among the most anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and pro-Hezbollah/Muslim Brotherhood religious sects in the Middle East. In Lebanon, they haven’t been shy about defending Hezbollah against Maronite Christians, whom they see as rivals. In Egypt, they took part in the Islamic purge and of Egypt’s Jews from the country.

The majority of Yemen’s Jews have long been chased away or forcibly converted. The clock is ticking on the rest.
And since they sided with the Muslims, the Copts have reaped their just “rewards” from their Muslim allies, with a ton of persecution. Sorry, but I can’t feel sorry for them, since they had no problem persecuting others. As my Dad would say, “Cast thy sh-t upon the waters.”
Still, it bears noting that the absolutely intolerant Sunni Muslims who run Egypt are using this undue hysteria over swine flu to impose their religious mores and special brand of persecution upon the Christians. As we all know, the Egyptian Muslims aren’t really concerned about Swine Flu/H1N1. They’re merely using this as an excuse to impose their no pig, halal dietary rules on everyone else. Score yet another “tolerance” point for the “Religion of Peace.”

Funny, I didn’t see anything about this on any major newscast or in most of my major newspapers. I guess if it’s not the “evil” Jews/Israelis fighting Arab Muslims, it ain’t news. When it’s Muslims attacking Christian farmers, definitely NOT news.
Oh, how Alexandria has fallen. The ironic thing is that this latest violent persecution of Egyptian Christians by the Muslim ruling majority there won’t wake the Copts up. They’ll still continue their disgusting alliance with Muslims when it comes to those “dirty Jews.”

The way the Arabs treat their minorities is quite terrible. Infact, non-Sunni denominated muslims suffer more at the hands of muslims than even Christians I’d say. Also agree that there is quite a bit of anti-Semitism in the Arab world (not as much as you might think, but more than muslims want to admit). Thanks for highlighting this.
“Copts , the original inhabitants…” Muslims are want to talk of muslim lands but in reality these are usually places which have been invaded and overrun by violent marauding muslims..in centuries past.
Talking about original inhabitants is a mugs game. Caucasians then should leave the entire continent of North America, lock stock and barrel, right? I’m not sure that the conquistadors or the early american settlers were handing out candy to the natives.

This article is about the plight of the Copts, who are forced into abject poverty by their Muhammedan overlords, who are now destroying a source of their livelihood, the pigs.

sheik, not sure if you even bothered to read my first post about the plight of the Coptic Christians in Egypt. I don’t know what prompted the pig slaughter (paranoia, ignorance or religious intolerance) but clearly Coptic christians are being mistreated in Egypt.
I don’t support imposing sharia. Dhimmitude and jizya were topical laws created to protect minorities, later misused by some muslim rulers.

Anand, as a Muslim it is your sacred duty to spread Islam and to impose the sharia.
Your views, as expressed above (Dhimmitude and jizya were topical laws created to protect minorities, later misused by some muslim rulers.) even if sincerely held, do not reflect Islamic jurisprudence, and would in fact make you an apostate.

Or you may try to refute Muslim scholar Bassam Tibi:
“Muslims are religiously obliged to disseminate the Islamic faith throughout the world…. If non-Muslims submit to conversion or subjugation, this call can be pursued peacefully. If they do not, Muslims are obliged to wage war against them. … Those who resist Islam cause wars and are responsible for them”
So after all the infidels are the one who don’t want world peace according to Islamic scholars.
World peace in accordance to Islamic teachings can be achieved only when all the people in the world submit themselves to Islam.

As one who has spent a lot of time in Muslim countries (nearly married one) I don’t hold such views at all. Muslims who go about their business in a peaceful way do so in spite of Islam, not because of it.

I like the observation and fully agree with it. It will be true for all religions. It is the fanatics with no regard for fellow humans that become so intolerant. Of course they are not motivated by teachings of a particular religion. They do it for various other reasons. Religion is a false justification for their heinous acts.
