Moderate, peace-loving Mahmoud Abbas mocks the idea of a Jewish state

More on this story, from Palestinian Media Watch, May 4 (thanks to Jihad Watch).

He said:

“The ‘Jewish state.’ What is a ‘Jewish state?’ We call it, the ‘State of Israel’. You can call yourselves whatever you want. But I will not accept it. And I say this on a live broadcast… It’s not my job to define it, to provide a definition for the state and what it contains. You can call yourselves the Zionist Republic, the Hebrew, the National, the Socialist [Republic] call it whatever you like. I don’t care.” [PA TV, Apr. 27, 2009]

  • The Israeli left is increasingly waking up to the disturbing reality that their country is surrounded by people with genocidal intent, and historian Benny Morris is a case in point: Running out of Solutions.

Fitzgerald: A “Jewish” State Is Of Course Verboten. But an “Arab” State ….Now You’re Talking

Well, well. So Mahmoud Abbas doesn’t like the idea of a “Jewish” state, that is, a state connected to a particular people or a particular religion. Or sometimes to a particular people and a particular religion. Mahmoud Abbas, you see, rejects that idea, and so he must object to the belief of so many Arab Muslims that what should count for Arabs are only two things: Islam and, within Islam, as a vehicle for Arab linguistic, cultural, and other forms of imperialism, the supremacy of those who possess ‘Uruba, or Arabness. He’s apparently all for “diversity” and the universal rights of man, and so on. Or is he? Let’s see.

Let’s start with a few questions.
What does Mahmoud Abbas think of the official title of the country we call Egypt – that is, “The Arab Republic of Egypt”? What does he think of the Christian Copts, the original Egyptians, who were there long before the Muslim Arabs arrived? And when they did arrive, they killed, or forcibly converted, or converted over time through inexorable and sometimes unbearable pressure, many of the indigenous Copts, even making them take Arabic names and think that they were Arabs, forgetting their own Coptic identity.

Mahmoud Abbas aka Abu Mazen:

“A Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?,
You can call yourselves as you like but I don’t accept it and I say so publicly.”

For those of us who know better, the Palestinian leadership, whether it be in Ramallah or in Hamastan (Gaza), do not, and will not recognize the Jewish character of the Jewish state of Israel, and more than many of the Muslims and Leftists of Europe will recognize the Judeo-Christian character of a Judeo-Christian Europe.

That is why both mainstream Leftism and Islam make such great bed partners, both loathe the same enemy, and both are willing to subvert the European continent in any way possible. Here’s an excerpt from a recent essay by the anti-Islamization commentator, Fjordman:

The most dangerous people by far are those running the European Union, who are busy dismantling European civilization and enlarging the borders of the EU to include the Middle East and North Africa, thus flooding their own countries with tens of millions of Muslims and other hostile aliens without consulting the native population.

This makes the EU the largest criminal entity on the planet, preoccupied with destroying an entire continent, dismantling the greatest civilization that has ever existed and replacing the native population with others. I have described this in my book Defeating Eurabia , which is available online.

Next to the EU, the most dangerous people are the Leftists all over the Western world who are waging a Jihad to destroy their own civilization and have teamed up with Muslims to achieve this goal. Unlike neo-Nazis, these people are not only far more numerous but socially accepted and disproportionately represented in the media and the education system, where they systematically silence “racist” dissenters by destroying their livelihoods and reputations.

They use an imaginary “far-Right” threat to crush people they don’t like. According to Dr Aidan Rankin, “anti-Fascism” is the new Fascism. The so-called anti-racists and Multiculturalists are aggressors with totalitarian leanings; the people they unfairly attack are victims of a failed social experiment and one of the greatest betrayals in history. MORE HERE.

The Tundra Tabloids kids not, the current strategy for the Islamization of Europe is predicated upon the internalization of the Arab narrative to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Creating a distinct break from Christian Europe’s Judaic roots, is part of the Islamizing project. It’s another reason why there was a major push, after the return of Yasser Arafat to the Disputed Territories, to rename dhimmi Christian Arab leaders to head the local branches of those Christian churches in both Israel and in the Palestinian controlled areas, and why Christian replacement theology is making a big comeback in those Arab run dioceses. KGS

Mideast: Abbas refuses to recognise Israel as Jewish state

Ramallah, 27 April (AKI) – Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on Monday dismissed calls by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recognise Israel as a Jewish state. He also said a halt to Israel’s continuing expansion of illegal Jewish settlements inside the West Bank was a prerequisite for resuming peace talks.

“A Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?,” said Abbas, quoted by Israeli media. “You can call yourselves as you like, but I don’t accept it and I say so publicly.”

He also said it was not his job to define or name the Israeli state.

“Name yourself, it’s not my business. Name yourself the Hebrew Socialist Republic. All I know is that there is the state of Israel, in the borders of 1967, not one centimetre more, not one centimetre less. Anything else, I do not accept.”

Many observers believe the so called ‘green line’ – the pre-1967 Six-Day War ceasefire line between Israel and Jordan – should be the basis for an international border between Israel and the West Bank in the creation of a future Palestinian state.

Israeli daily Haaretz said last week that Netanyahu wanted to impose the precondition of recognition of Israel as a Jewish state in order to resume peace negotiations.

However, it is believed such recognition would block the Palestinians demand for the “right of return” of millions of refugees who fled or were expelled by Jewish forces, during the establishment of Israel in 1948 and subsequent wars. The refugees are now scattered throughout the Middle East
