France: Muslim ringleader of gang who tortured and murdered Jew sentenced to life in prison
Predictably, this story does not call attention to the role of Islamic anti-semitism in Fofana’s acts. The words “Islam” and “Muslim” are not mentioned despite Fofana’s own words quoted below, and the fact that the torturers chanted Qur’anic verses, and Fofana shouted “Allahu akbar!” in court. “Gang leader gets life in anti-Semitic murder case,” from France24, July 10, via JW:

Youssouf Fofana’s violent actions exposed anti-semitic tensions in the immigrant suburbs of France
A self-styled “barbarian” from Africa was sentenced to a minimum 22 years in prison last night for the kidnapping and murder of a young Parisian Jewish man.
Youssouf Fofana, 28, from the Ivory Coast, was convicted as the ringleader of a gang of youths from a housing estate in Bagneux, west of Paris, who helped him to kidnap and torture Ilan Halimi, a 23-year-old assistant in a Paris mobile telephone shop, in 2006.
The case exposed anti-semitic tension in the immigrant suburbs and shocked France. Fofana, who called himself the “king of the barbarians”, recruited youngsters from his neighbourhood so that he could hold Mr Halimi for ransom.
Twenty-four accomplices received sentences ranging from six months suspended to 18 years. Fofana’s two main accomplices, Samir Aït Abdelmalek, 30, and Jean-Christophe Soumbou, 23, were sentenced to 18 and 15 years.
The teenage girl, now aged 21, who lured Mr Halimi to his death by visiting his shop and inviting him on a date, was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment.

Mr Halimi was found dying by a railway line, naked and bearing the marks of severe torture after 10 days as a captive in a basement on the housing estate.Fofana voiced his contempt for the court throughout the 10-week trial, which was held in camera because of the underage defendants.
The family of Mr Halimi voiced indignation at what they said were the light sentences passed against the accomplices who took turns to guard the young man during his captivity.

The poor Jewish guy – and his tormentors will be walking round free
one day .
I don’t believe in capital punishment as a general rule because the cops have got the wrong guy too many times .
But these people (not just the ringleader ) should never get out of prison .

People like Youssouf Fofana are just hateful, vicious career criminals who use any excuse to commit their crimes for a living. They are sadistic, spineless garbage walking around claiming to be from one religion or another just to pretend and recruit ignorant youth. There is no religion that would tolerate, or encourage such brutal inhuman transgression. Why is religion even an issue here? How can Fofana even be called a muslim? He is a non-religious street delinquent. Scam like this give true muslims a bad name. It’s very sad. What a waste of life.
How can he be called human? Let alone Muslim. How can anyone defend him, on any grounds. Whether everyone involved received the same punishment or not, he deserved what he got.
