Breakfast in Morocco

In recent years many Western nations have done their best to help enforce the legal requirements of shari’a when pressured by their Muslim minorities. The pandering has even reached the point where, during Ramadan, non-Muslims in public employment are sometimes forbidden to eat their lunch where Muslims can see them.

Now, in one of the bitter ironies of our time, a group of courageous Moroccans is risking arrest and punishment for asserting the right to eat in public.

While we are rushing pell-mell to surrender our civil liberties, people in Morocco are struggling to claim theirs for the first time.

Ramadan: Moroccans Attempting to Break Fast Reported

(ANSAmed) — RABAT, SEPTEMBER 15 — Six people have been reported to the legal authorities for attempting to publicly break their Ramadan fast in Mohammedia (80km south of Rabat).

The group said that they are part of the “Alternative movement for the defence of individual liberties”, unheard of until now, but which includes Zineb Elghzaoui, a journalist for the Journal Hebdomadaire, as one of their members.

The demonstrators, who were blocked by police, were supposed to break their Ramadan fast “to protest against a law punishing non-observance during the month of Ramadan”. It is the first time in Morocco that a group of people publicly demanded the right not to fast.

In a statement issued by press agency MAP, the Ulema Council of Mohammedia denounced “this loathsome act that challenges God and the prophet’s teachings: a public attack of this nature on religion cannot be tolerated”. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims are called to abstain from food, drink, smoking, and sexual relations from dusk until dawn.

  1. Fixed it: “this loathsome act that challenges satan and the false prophet’s teachings: a public attack of this nature on religion cannot be tolerated”

God is much less rigid: “… When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day–things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.” (Colossians 2 in part)

Spin it, Solkhar! No crucifixion, eh Solkhar?

  2. “The pandering has even reached the point where, during Ramadan, non-Muslims in public employment are sometimes forbidden to eat their lunch where Muslims can see them.”

It seems that Muslims have to be treated like naughty children who cannot be trusted. Ooh! don’t let the muzzies see you eating because they may not be able to control themselves. Wear a Birkha or a Hijab because Muslim “men” will not be able to control their urges. Is this a belief system that takes all self-responsibility away from the individual. Talk about arrested developement or evolution passing them by. Time to grow up and become individuals or is that too hard. Maybe it is only acts of violence that gives one individuality. But then rational thought and violence don’t go together.

  3. Each Wilaya (local town or regional government) in Morocco has the right to control, along with the same region’s police chief, the level of tolerance in the community to things like breaking the fast.

Since Mohamedia (half way between Rabat and Casablanca) is not a tourism town it has chosen to not allow any caf̩s and resteraunts to open for the non-Muslim population. In contrast, Rabat, Marrakech, Casablanca, Meknes, Tanger, Agadir, Nador, Teteouan and Al Jadida do allow and even you can sit outside in Marrakech at the MacDonalds or Pizza Hut Рit just accepted.

Having said that, Mohamedia is one place that should allow it considering that it has a very large expat French community there.

Things are changing each year for the better. Radicalims and strong-conservatism has no place here.

  4. Solkhar the snitch wrote “Radicalims and strong-conservatism has no place here.”

What are you doing there, Solkhar, apart from snitching and informing
for the Interior Ministry? Where will an anti-Christian radical like you
go? What will you do after the restrainer is taken out of the way?
    ( 2 Thessalonians 2 )

  5. You must absolutely hate the fact that God and Allah is the same thing, we all are part of the Abrahamic religon and that Issa (Jesus) did not die on the cross.

I am not anti-Christian at all, logically I should believe that Jews who have not accepted Mohammed should at least accept Jesus. I am also reading the first printed copy of a French translation of the Aramaic New Testiment which apparently is the oldest copy available and it is interesting how it includes a completely different Gospel that is not in the current New Testiment, rather does not discuss the cruxifiction at all.

No, radical I am not, I certainly will again condemn any “radical evagalist” that tries the same here, what a pathetic and disgusting thing to do, go to another country and tell the locals that their religion is the devil’s work and “oh, to be saved you must follow me”.

  6. Solkhar the crucifixion denier wrote “You must absolutely hate the fact that God and Allah is the same thing, we all are part of the Abrahamic religon and that Issa (Jesus) did not die on the cross.”

Neither a fact, or a reason to hate you, or anyone disseminating the
lie that God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is the same thing as “allah”,
and the lie that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross.

“allah” and his false prophet cannot save you, Solkhar – only Jesus
Christ can do that, based on his substitutionary death on the cross
for your (and my) sins, and his subsequent resurrection.

You are involved in a war that prophetically you have already lost.

  7. [Solkhar the blasphemer and denier] “No, radical I am not, I certainly will again condemn any “radical evagalist” that tries the same here, what a pathetic and disgusting thing to do, go to another country and tell the locals that their religion is the devil’s work and “oh, to be saved you must follow me”.”

Yes, Solkhar, you are a snitch and an agent of a doomed islamic government who denies the sonship & deity of Jesus Christ, along
with His crucifixion. What will you say to Him on judgement day?

The Gospel that you despise and mock – in part: (Mark 15)

[They began to salute him: “Hail, king of the Jews!” Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spat on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him. A certain man from Cyrene, Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross. They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). Then they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it. And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get.]

You serve your “god” and false prophet well, Solkhar, but for what?
What do you hope to get for your treachery? What has “allah” offered you that you would willingly mock and deny the Son of God?

  8. Elohim, God, Allah are all titles not names.
The montheistic concepts as wel as dualistic and trinitarian descriptions are limitations of the being of Yahweh.
