There were reports of other shooters. There is a presumption of innocence in trials. The prosecution must find evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. If you think trials are unnecessary, then you are unAmerican, but in our day of rendition and torture, I understand your confusion about what our policy is.
Those who deplore the “waste of taxpayer money” on Hasan’s hospitalization prior to his trial for murder are the very same people who do not seem to mind that war produces paralyzed vets too, and that it also produces injuries in innocent civilians in those countries we have attacked. If they are so concerned about saving taxpayer money, they had better stop making these preemptive wars.
