I always have difficulty in how to “grasp” diversity. I can “grasp” at most two people at a time, or two distinct cultures, mine and another, at a time. But grasping “diversity” is beyond me.

What I would like is a YouTube video that shows how to “grasp” diversity.

“Stand shoulder to shoulder with Scotland’s Muslim communities.” Oh dear. I hope she’s prepared to become a full-time muslim pretty soon, otherwise “shoulders” is all she’ll have left, as she will be decapitated if she refuses.
Or perhaps the “muslim community” will have fallen in with EU regulations by then and only shoot or hang the dissidents, so as to be more in tune with modern, civilised societies.

Deputy First Minister condemns groups that perpetuate hatred and bigotry.

Nicola Sturgeon will attend and speak at the Scotland United rally in Glasgow tomorrow.

The Scottish Government’s vision is of a Scotland that embraces diversity and fosters a sense of common purpose and goals.

Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said:

“Scotland is rightly proud of its multi-cultural diversity. A place where people from all backgrounds – irrespective of their race, faith, belief and place of birth – feel respected.

“We want all our citizens to play a part in shaping our nation’s future articulating the hopes of a diverse, multi-cultural, modern Scotland.

“As the far-right Scottish Defence League prepares an anti-Islamic demonstration in Glasgow on Saturday, it is important for the whole nation to send a clear message condemning all forms of bigotry and discrimination.

“To show opposition to that demonstration, like thousands of others, I will attend the Scotland United rally in Glasgow to stand shoulder to shoulder with Scotland’s Muslim communities.”
