Human Rights Watch has just released a report - Cruel Britannia – which finds:
In… five cases, British officials and agents first colluded with illegal detention by the Pakistan authorities and then took the collusion further by repeatedly interviewing or passing questions to the detainees between or during torture sessions.
I have not had time to read this report. However Norm, who has, says:
Generalized statements by government ministers on this matter do not answer to the gravity of the findings in HRW’s report. An inquiry is called for.
If that is Norm’s conclusion, this is a very serious matter indeed.

“The Vice Chancellor of City University London, Julius Weinberg, should resign. He is refusing to take any action after the Islamic Society hosted a fundamentalist preacher, Abu Usamah, who advocates the murder of gay people and of Muslims who give up their faith,” said human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell.
Earlier this month I wrote about the LGBT Students who took on London’s City University ISOC who had invited a hate-preacher who supported the killing of gay people. Alas, the talk went ahead.
Now I’m pleased to see, as the BBC reports, that University College London Union “has cancelled a talk by an Islamic preacher who allegedly endorses killing homosexuals.”
Good.

LGBT advocate Tatchell should be sticking up for women as well. The Islam message is in part a hatred for his mom.
