Tenn. mayor claims Obama blocked ‘Peanuts’ special
The mayor of a suburban Memphis city accused President Barack Obama of deliberately timing his speech about the war in Afghanistan this week to block the airing of the “Peanuts” Christmas television special.
According to The Commercial Appeal, Arlington Mayor Russell Wiseman posted the statements on his Facebook page and said the president is Muslim. Obama is Christian.
“We sit the kids down to watch ‘The Charlie Brown Christmas Special’ and our muslim president is there, what a load…..try to convince me that wasn’t done on purpose,” he wrote, according to the newspaper.
Wiseman downplayed the posting when contacted by the newspaper Thursday. He did not immediately return phone calls from The Associated Press on Friday.

Obama and Michelle tell Oprah and the world that they are having Christmas at the White House. On Oprah’s Special on the ABC called “Christmas at the White House: An Oprah Primetime Special” registering as Sunday’s most-watched entertainment program at 11.8 million.”
She specifically asked them were they celebrating Christmas. After a split second pause and a dual sigh they both said emphatically, yes.
Because I have gained a lot of knowledge about this from this site and links to it, I was aware of the sensitivity behind the question.
Fancy having to ask the POTUS if he was. Now, why would that be so?

As for the decor, Michelle Obama decided to display fewer trees and wreaths. There is no artificial snow and no Santa Claus. Aides said the choices reflected the Obamas’ personal taste and their empathy for the hardships facing many Americans.
