ABC needs to learn more about bears, polar and otherwise. Males are solitary and usually very aggressive. Anything in their hunting range is food, even bear cubs.
As for the polar bear hunger problem, since their numbers are increasing in two separate areas caused by human intervention, and the seal hunts, their natural prey is limited. Go figure!! Good intentions can produce really bad consequences.

"Like, to me, you know" it sounds like one of the idiots that take care of feeding the polar bears forgot to feed them and also left the cubs in the wrong pen so after changing the carcasses to the correct pens, thought, hmmm, maybe I can save my job if I can come up with a wild story that polar bears know that global warming is causing this horrible cannibalism, and the bosses will believe me.
The closer we get to the summit the more cooked up stories we're going to hear, and the wilder as well.
Afterall, dumb politicians will believe anything...kind of like my "blond" sister. Like, you know, she'll say, in her high pitched piercing voice..."oh my gawd...the polar bear momies ate the poor babies 'cause of global warming...we have to stop global warming tomorrow, like, you know???"
As a matter of fact, I will have to avoid forwarding this story to her.

Germany suffered the worst instance of global warming in Jan. 2008, when a polar bear at the Nuremberg zoo ate its cubs. It did in fact get a double dose of global warming because she ate both.

All zoo's separate the polar bear fathers from the newborn cubs because the zoos are so much hotter than the arctic, hence the habit of eating their cubs. Female polar bears have been aware of the dangers of global warming since the first explorers came across them since they noticed that females have always given birth alone and kept their offspring well out of the way of grown males.
