We need a real debate about Islam in Europe

Quote of the day from Tariq Ramadan:

“We don’t really need minarets, we just have to have them…”

Scholars from a country that doesn’t allow churches or synagogues slam Swiss minaret ban

Robert Spencer explains the twisted  psyche of the Muselman:

Hypocrisy. That is, it is hypocrisy from a Western point of view. As far as these “scholars” are concerned, Islam is the truth, its truth is self-evident, and therefore the Swiss are obligated to accommodate it in a way that the Saudis are not obligated to accommodate non-Muslim religious observance.

Suffering fake “Palestinians” treated like dirt in Lebanon

Born in Jordan, kicked out by Arabs to Lebanon, thousands of them and their children now in legal limbo with no rights at all.

But the Arab world doesn’t care about them – because they are considered “Palestinian.”

New UNRWA scandal in Lebanon?

Has the UN been inflating the number of “Palestinian refugees” in Lebanon by 60%?

Brazil: South America’s Hotbed of Islamic Jihad

Muslim numbers soar in Latin America

“ALLAH Akbar” blares from the loudspeakers as hundreds of Muslims file into the mosque for prayers. Outside, halal meat stores line the street as in Damascus, Cairo or Baghdad, but this is the working-class neighbourhood of Bras in Sao Paulo, Brazil – the heart of Islam’s Latin American rebirth.

Brazil is experiencing an Islamic boom, with reliable estimates indicating that the Muslim population has increased from a few hundred thousand to 1.5 million this decade alone, out of a total population of 190 million. This is clear as mosques emerge throughout the country, some financed by Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states. More from the Scotsman

Iran Demands Nurses In Bolivia Wear Hijabs

Morocco: “17 arrested for trying to spread Christianity”

I really think we should have similar laws re Islam in Europe, Australia & the US:

17 people including one Swiss citizen have been arrested in Marocco, accused of trying to spread Christianity.

According to the Moroccan interior ministry, authorities intervened after hearing about evangelical missionary efforts. They feared that the mission could lower the religious values of the kingdom.

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs has not yet confirmed the arrest of the Swiss. The other detainees, are said to be from Guatemala, South Africa and Morocco itself.

Wait a Minaret! “Who has to change their ways. Islamic extremists or those terrible Swiss who dare to have an opinion?”

Dinah Lord:

Iran threatens Switzerland with “unspecified consequences”…

… if minaret ban enforced.

OMG, hearing the Iranians wax eloquent about human rights is a joke, isn’t it?

From the LA Times:

An East-West clash over a Swiss referendum last week banning the construction of mosque minarets heated up today as Iran’s foreign minister warned of unspecified “consequences” if the ban were enforced.

Manouchehr Mottaki spoke on the phone with his Swiss counterpart Micheline Calmy-Rey. Switzerland and Iran generally have good relations. The Swiss serve as Washington’s representative in the Iranian capital in the absence of formal relations between America and the Islamic Republic, giving them exalted status in Tehran’s diplomatic circles.

But Mottaki had harsh words for Switzerland, saying enforcement of the ban on new minarets was “against the prestige of a country which claims to be an advocate of democracy and human rights” and would “damage Switzerland’s image as a pioneer of respecting human rights among Muslims’ public opinion,” according to a report by the official Islamic Republic News Agency, or IRNA.

[...]

“Values such as tolerance, dialogue and respecting others’ religions (Ed. Note:  Don’t make me laugh – you mean like Iran respects and tolerates religions other than Islam?) should never be put to referendum,” Mottaki told his Swiss counterpart. He expressed hope that Bern would soon “take necessary steps and find a constitutional way to prevent imposition of the ban.”

An Iranian cleric today also condemned the minaret ban. Ayatollah Hossein Nouri-Hamadani, said the move was“at odds with the protection of Muslim citizens’ civil rights and will hurt the feelings of Muslims across the world,” according to Iran’s state television.   (Ed. note:  Oh noes!  Muslims itty bitty feelings are hurt!)

Calmy-Rey to the rescue:

Calmy-Rey told Mottaki her government would “use all its means to support Muslims rights,” according to IRNA.

Calmy-Rey = Another Dhimmi politician…

Need another laugh today?  Listen to what the Jamaat-e-Islami spokesman had to say:

Minaret ban a direct attack on Islamic values.

The JI chief said the developments in the West after 9/11 had made the life of the Muslims miserable and anti-Islamic policies were being adopted as state policies. He said Desecration of the Quran, Guantanamo Bay, publication of blasphemous caricatures in Denmark, ban on scarves in France and on veil in Netherlands and the murder of an innocent veiled woman in Germany reflected the anti-Islamic approach in the West. He said all these incidents showed that peoples of the West were following the theory of clash of civilisations.

Munawwar said claims of religious freedom were the hallmark of Western society whereas in reality the principles of coexistence required that human beings were allowed to practice their faith and ideology freely. He said minarets were an integral part of mosques and the ban by Swiss government on their construction was a denial of Muslims’ worship rights. He said the ban was only for mosques as churches and other places of worship would be exempted from it which proved the discriminatory nature of the decision. He said such anti-Islamic measures would widen the gulf between religions instead of creating interfaith harmony.

Too small? Click hereThis is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way...But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted.Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it!One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that.Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

How sad. The only thing I can suugest is that Muslims should consider going back to the 50 odd Muslim counttries they came from.

The SVP choice of referendum on the minarets only, was tctically brilliant. If they had gone for mosques or Muslims, it wouldnt have passed, or they would have been roundly condemned. Minarets however are ancillary to mosques, and voting against them should not affect Islam. But it is obvious, that most if not all Swiss, can hardly tell the significance of a mosque with, or without a minaret. In effect this was a vote against the Islamisation of Switzerland.

The fact that the Swiss rejection of minarets is backed by nearly 80% of Europe, signifies the same thing – it is a vote against the Islamisation of Europe.

Can we have a similar referendum in EU? Notr a chance- the EU is allergic to all referenda.

Muslims exploit Tolerance to further an Intolerant creed. Under such circumstances, “Tolerance” becomes a suicvidal policy.
