(UK) Two brothers have been prosecuted and jailed in the UK for arranging a sham wedding between the 16-year-son of one and the 12-year-old daughter of the other (first cousins) and then getting the lad to consummate the so called Islamic marriage by getting him to rape his child-bride.

Yes, I find the silence of the muslim world on atrocities carried out by muslims on “fellow cultists” and others to be most revealing. Yes Ahmed – the criminals are muslims and yes – they use your “holy” book to justify their crimes. Pretending that they are not muslims does not wash any more, if it ever did. islam – a backwards religion for a backwards people who have no wish of progressing out of the 6th century Arabian desert.
As a fore ward: I was raised as a Christian. My mother was the worship leader of the church when I was younger. I am not Muslim.
That being said, I must say how disgusted I am by the ignorance of the comments on this page. Yes, those men are disgusting. Yes, they use their holy book as a basis for wrongdoing. Yes, they did much wrong. And YES, horrible atrocities are committed every day in the name of this religion.
However, was the mother of this girl not also Muslim? Was she not the one who condemned this activity? Were the courts who ordered a strict retaliation against the offenders not Muslim courts?
And the girl…in which religion did she partake?
Have any of you people ever talked to a Muslim person before? The extremists are the only ones who get publicity. These extremists are, in essence, the rednecks of the Muslim world. Their ways are not accepted or condoned by all Muslims. There were Christians who burned witches in the name of God, does this make Christianity evil? No. It makes those who committed wicked activities evil.
Islam does not condone violence any more than the Bible does. Not all Muslims are crazed, murderous rapists. In fact, Mohammed instructed his fellow Muslims not to murder. He told them that a person who took ONE innocent life deserved to be punished as if he had taken ONE THOUSAND lives.
Perhaps their government isn’t as well organized as others. Perhaps their atrocities are not so well hidden by officials. Perhaps all of their violent crimes are committed and then blamed on the Q’uran. If America was as Christian a nation as those nations that consider themselves Islamic, then perhaps all of our offenses would be taken in the name of Jesus. Then we would be just as bad.
You people need to grow up. People are people, no matter what religion or geographical location.
Yes it needs to be stopped, but hastily generalizing on behalf of a religion that you know nothing about is hardly a way to move this world forward.

Sounds like the opposite if an instruction not to murder, but YMMV.
