THE AGE is deeply disturbed: calling jihadists JIHADISTS might ‘alienate Muslims..’

by sheikyermami on February 23, 2010

My KRuddness:

“Homegrown terrorism is now a reality in Australia that we have to accept….”

Update 1:  If home-grown terrorism is the problem, why is border security and a better visa system for foreigners the answer?

Update 2: Look over there! A unicorn with a bomb! When all but one of the 18 terrorist organisations proscribed by Australia are Islamist, and most announce their religious mission in their title, how can The Age editor be so sure that this identification with Islam is false? Wishing something does not make it true.

More (useless) advice to the embattled KRudd government from THE AGE:

Publicly discriminating against whole populations of countries on the list – bound to be Muslim-dominated – risks feeding a sense of victimisation that extremists can seek to exploit. Despite the dangers of alienating Muslims, the government reportedly ”toughened up” its language for political effect. If so, that is deeply disturbing. (“deeply disturbing” to whom? Muslim terrorists?) Mr Rudd warned of the threat ”from people born or raised in Australia, who have become influenced by the divisive narrative espoused by al-Qaeda”, yet spoke of ‘‘jihadist terrorism”. He thus framed the terrorists in terms of their own distorted narrative, (distorted? How?) which portrays them as holy warriors and martyrs fulfilling the religious duty of jihad. (That is what they believe, mr editor. Who are you to disabuse them?) Terrorists should not be dignified with any terms that reinforce their false identification with Islamic belief. Read it and weep… (This is the same failed crapola that the criminal Labour hacks in the UK tried… I strongly suspect that the AGE editor is a Muzz. Can anyone confirm that?/ed)

Regrets? That’ll do it. Turn ‘em lose!

Fort Hood Shooter Was Valued as ‘Rare Diversity’ for Being Muslim Psychiatrist…RoP

The result of institutionalized ignorance and stupidity:

WASHINGTON – Army superiors were warned about the radicalization of Major Nidal Malik Hasan years before he allegedly massacred 13 soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas, but did not act in part because they valued the rare diversity of having a Muslim psychiatrist, military investigators wrote in previously undisclosed reports.  Boston.com

Diana West: Attack in Little Rock ‘like other killings we have’?Not just another killing:

“because murder is when a person kills another person without justified reason.” Such a definition jibes with Islamic law, which, for example, permits the killing of “non-Muslims at war with Muslims.”

Muhammad also told the AP he wanted revenge against the U.S. military for its perceived offenses against Muslims and the Koran.  Diana West

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

‘The Age’ article might be gone, but I found another similar one in ‘The Herald-Sun’ that mentions Prof Abdullah Saeed.
Here he will be putting together a study to help the Government “… to unveil a plan to “build social cohesion” between communities, to encourage understanding and respect for cultural and religious differences and promote shared values. One option includes providing support for community leaders to challenge those who promote extremist propaganda and violence…”

Prof Abdullah Saeed, Director of the National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies, is the same guy who wrote
“Muslim Australians: Their Beliefs, Practices and Institutions”,
ISBN: 0-9756064-1-7, Commonwealth of Australia, 2004.
Page 59 on ‘Islam and Violence’ is interesting for the denials. Which, of course, are not true as we are finding out now!

That IS like asking your enemy to review your defence strategies!

Al Age has fired another blow against reality with its claim that calling people jihadists helps the terrorists. No, more likely Al Age aids and abets the terrorists with junk editorials, fawning and prostrating before allah and its hordes.

Read it if you can bear it:

Calling them jihadists helps the terrorists
DANIEL FLITTON

TERRORISTS use many weapons – bombs, gas and guns – but among the most potent are simple words. So why is Kevin Rudd playing into Osama bin Laden’s hands and spouting off about the threat ”jihadists” pose to Australia?

[...]

Rudd or his office apparently insisted the word jihadist pepper the white paper. That the term appeared in a official statement on terrorism at all was a mistake. Careful work over the past decade has helped agencies better understand the problem, marginalise extremists inside the Muslim community and tackle the threat. The government should know better.

“THE AGE is deeply disturbed … ” Disturbed as in mental?

When a nation loses its ability to distinguish between right and wrong on the pretext of “but they are thooo nithe; such a nithe people” you can rest assured that an unholy alliance has been forged between ignorance and hypocricy.
