Ohio Homeland Security publishing “classic Islamist propaganda”

Jawa Report:

Fox  guarding chicken coop alert!

Omar Alomari speaking on preventing terrorism is a bit like asking Emperor Nero  speaking on fire prevention.

Not only in Ohio: The Sheriff of Los Angeles seems equally befuddled: “Just because they are Muslim Americans does not mean they want to destroy Israel or the U.S.,”

Update:  Hamas-linked CAIR to dhimmi LA sheriff: well done, good and faithful servant

Your taxpayer dollars hard at work:

A hearing yesterday House Homeland Security Subcommittee on “Working with Communities to Disrupt Terrorist Plots” featured Ohio Homeland Security Multicultural Affairs Director Omar Alomari. But Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, criticized the Ohio Homeland Security Department for materials authored by Alomari, which he described as “classic Islamist propaganda”.

From the Investigative Project on Terrorism:

Witness Omar Alomari is the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Department of Homeland Securitymulticultural relations officer. Since taking the job in 2006, he wrote a 40-page Culture Guide related to Arabic and Islamic Culture. In this document, Alomari defined jihad as the benign pursuit of personal betterment. It may be applied to physical conflict for Muslims, but only in the arena of Muslims defending themselves when attacked or when attempting to overthrow oppression and occupation.Jihad as a holy war is a European invention, spread in the West, he wrote.

Alomari also authored a two-page brochure called “Agents of Radicalization” for the Ohio Department of Homeland Security. In it, he lists several grievances driving terrorism in the Muslim world, including Israel’s occupation and oppression of the Palestinians, U.S. support for Israel, the U.S. invasion and occupation of Muslim lands and support for repressive regimes. [read: nothing about Islamic ideology - B] Alomari goes on to explain that such terrorism also stems from the expected societal reaction of the once proud and thriving Arab/Muslim culture, now in decline and conflict because of the stronger and aggressive West.

Jasser describes the two publications as “full of factual inaccuracies” including the assertion that 66 percent of American Arabs are Muslim (close to three-fourths are Christian). Alomari also “misses the core problem: political Islam.” Instead, he indulges in “bizarre revisionist history” which “seeks to portray Muslims as victims.”

The United States is engaged in “a war of ideas” with radical Islam. Regarding jihadists, “you would hope that [Alomari] would say that these are corrupt thugs who have hijacked our faith,” Jasser told the Investigative Project on Terrorism. But instead he “describes [terrorism] as a response to what the West has done.”

The material Alomari’s agency is putting out is “classic Islamist propaganda” which suggests that “these thugs who kill people in restaurants and shopping malls will stop if we solve the Arab-Israeli conflict,” Jasser said. “In fact, they’ll find another grievance in a year or two.”

Alomari acknowledges that some Muslim communities do, in fact, provide support for the radical jihadists, who he labels “the opposition.” He also describes Islam as a “politicized religion” in terms of terrorism and how “it’s easier for extremists in Islam to convince youngsters to join in their extremist organizations.”

But the brochure ends with a list of seven Muslim organizations the Ohio agency works with. All the groups have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood or have their own history of extremist rhetoric. Click on the links for each group for examples:

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)

Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA)

Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)

Muslim Alliance of North America (MANA)

Muslim American Society (MAS)

Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)

Muslim Student Association (MSA)

It bears mentioning that having Omar Alomari speaking on preventing terrorism is a bit like asking Emperor Nero to speak on fire prevention. Not only is Ohio one of the most active areas of jihadist and terrorist efforts in the country, but Columbus, where Alomari lives and does most of his work, has been the home of the largest known Al-Qaeda cell since the 9/11 attacks and is the focus of an ongoing FBI investigation into radicalization and terrorist recruitment by the Somali terror organization, Al-Shabaab. If disrupting terrorist plots is the aim of Congress (yes, an item still subject to debate), then from an empirical perspective Omar Alomari is doing a seriously sh**ty job.

And the materials cited by Jasser defending the justifications of Islamic terror and featuring outright Islamic dawahauthored by Alomai — paid for by taxpayers — not only helps encourage radicalization but clearly runs afoul of our First Amendment protections against an establishment of religion. That would certainly seem to be an open and shut legal case for any enterprising First Amendment public interest law firm.

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

My father who survived the Armenian Genocide told us to ‘never trust a Muslim, they don’t think like us’. Years later I have found that he was right. Don’t trust Muslims, not even so-called ‘moderate’ Muslims.

Arius – hi! Nice to see you here – I recall your nom de plume from a few discussion threads over at jihadwatch.

It’s always good to hear your testimony. Keep on speaking out. All non-Muslims in Australia – especially church leaders and journalists and political leaders – need to hear your father’s hard-earned wisdom.

It would be good to see some more accuracy from this and other sites/blogs. CAIR is not a “Hamas-linked” organization. It is Hamas. The documents from the Holy Land Foundation trial, to include memorandums from the prosecution to the court and direct testimony by the FBI case agent are clear that CAIR is Hamas. That means, and we know this is true, that the local, state, and national leadership of CAIR are Hamas. My question is, why are police departments, DHS, and the FBI still confused about this. It appears the influence operation by the Brotherhood is pretty successful.

We appreciate informed readership, David.

Accuracy, however, comes with evidence. If you can provide evidence that CAIR is in fact Hamas we will be only too happy to post it. Its simply not good enough to make claims without being able to back it up.

Mohammedans do smear jobs all the time. We don’t, because we are trying to remain credible.
