Banning the burqa is un-Australian….

It’s un-Australian … rally condemns push to ban burqa

Mohammedans know best what’s Australian? Back off, kafirs! We are here to stay…. your children will be Muslim….

Islamic values are superior to ”flawed” Western secular values and non-Muslims are in no position to lecture Muslims about the oppression of women, a speaker said yesterday at a Sydney rally against proposals to ban the burqa.

East meets west …(but never the twain should meet) a woman addresses the rally in Lakemba yesterday. The crowd heard that more and more Western women are embracing Islam.

”Despite the intense negative propaganda against Islam and in particular the lies about its treatment of women, the number of Western women embracing Islam continues to rise at a rapid rate,” said Fautmeh Ardati, a member of the Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir. ”By turning their backs on this flawed way of life, it is testament of the superiority of Islamic values over Western values.”

Women did not wear Islamic dress out of freedom of choice, Ms Ardati told the Lakemba rally.

‘Because to use freedom of choice as a justification, then we are also accepting of women who undress out of this same freedom of choice, and we can never do this as Muslim women. We dress like this because it is the command of Allah, not any man.”

The “Muslim community” rally against the proposed ban of the Niqab. (Note the threat: “Attack on Niqaab = Attack on Islam” which simply means ‘kafir back off or we will wage jihad against you’)

Women had two options, she said. ”The Western secular way of life, which robs a woman of her dignity, honour and respect, where she is considered little more than a commodity to be bought and sold, or the option of Islam, where a woman’s dignity, respect and honour are priceless.”

Later she cited high rates of rape and domestic violence and said: ”They are in no position to be lecturing us about oppression and subjugation.” Ms Ardati was one of five speakers at the rally, held at Parry Park, in reaction to a recent unsuccessful attempt by the NSW MP Fred Nile to introduce a bill banning the burqa.

The Premier, Kristina Keneally’s recent statement re-affirming the right of Muslim women to wear the burqa was welcomed but Ms Ardati said the support of key politicians did not mean Muslims could ”relax”.

”Even if this bill is not passed in NSW now, who knows what will happen in one week, one month or one year?” Ms Ardati said.

There were about 2000 people at the rally, with men and women segregated by a row of plastic markers. Male speakers spoke to the crowd from a podium at the front. The two female speakers spoke from the women’s section, meaning most of the men had their backs turned to them.

Sheikh Shady al-Suleiman said Muslims loved Australia but rejected interference in the practice of their religion. ”Keep away from our affairs,” he said.

Umm Jamaalud-Din said Mr Nile’s ”un-Australian” bill had ”open[ed] the floor to racist elements that exist within Australian society” who would now feel they could vilify, abuse and possibly assault Muslim women.

”I feel empowered by the knowledge that I am in control of displaying my beauty to whom I choose,” she said.

”I can move freely throughout society without being subjected to the eyes of every Tom, Dick and Harry and not be judged on face value but rather for who I am as a person.”

Earlier, organisers had told people not to speak to the media. One woman wearing a burqa said she would have to ask her husband before speaking to the Herald. When asked if she needed her husband’s permission to speak, she said: ”We are allowed but we choose not to.”

  1. I somehow don’t think that these women have much of a grasp of what being Australian means. You need to emulate the Swedes and vote in some people who’ll actually start to seriously seek to dismantle multiculturalism, for there is good news from Sweden tonight (well, it’s ‘tonight’ where I’m writing, but probably not where you’re reading). Can you believe it? Good news from hyper-PC Sweden in the fight against Islamisation? Surely not?!

First Geert Wilders and the PVV surged ahead in the Dutch parliamentary elections this year, and this evening the anti-Islamisation Sweden Democrats breakthrough into the national parliament for the first time!

  2. So they think we should respect their religious freedom with an act (the wearing of the full face covering) which actually spits on our culture. Huh? How is that supposed to work? The fact that we even have to have this debate annoys me. Part of moving into a different culture means making some changes to fit in with that culture. Wear your headscarfs, your full body coverings if you must, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that full face covering is not the done thing in western society. It is a simple mark of respect for your adoptive country to conform to this kind of society norm.

Why do we have to give up what is a fundamental part of our society (the ability to see someone’s face when you walk down the street) to accommodate them? And if they want to wear this garb I honestly don’t understand why they would move to Australia in the first place.

I’m all for multiculturalism but we also need to make some things clear here. Certain things in our society, our way of life, are simply not negotiable. And while I don’t agree that banning items of clothing is the way to go, a clear and simple message needs to be sent to Islamic Australians that the full face covering is simply not an appropriate form of attire for this country, and if you feel the need to wear it perhaps you would feel more comfortable living in Afganistan.

  3. Don’t ya just love it when immigrants, who have not expended one iota of energy or effort towards building & developing their new country have the gall to demand their rights and lecture the indigenous citizens whose efforts built the country the new “immigrants” (read invaders) now reside in, about proper behaviour towards them ?

  4. Call them on their ‘wish to live under shari’ah law’ and give them ALL an ultimatum:
Live according to the human laws of the country, or leave – free tickets to a shari’ah country of your choice.

Of course, we should also offer asylum to all those who wish to leave a shari’ah country – but they must prove it by accepting secular law.

Why compromise? Are we ashamed of our secular laws?

  5. Politicians who enabled the immigration of Muslims to the West should be tried for treason. I dont see why they should get off scott free while future generation pay the price for their idiocy with their lives.

  6. Durotrigan.. I saw that good news this morning. People are waking up to the dreadful cult of Islam

I came here to start a new life, to be an Australian, if I had wanted to stay the same as I was. I would have remained in my country of birth.
These women need to know that.

The burqa is demeaning, restrictive, confrontational, repressive, oppressive, a safety issue, hideous and any thing else you care to describe it as.

It’s the height of ill manners not to show your face when speaking with someone.

It’s a proven fact that babies cannot bond with a mother they can’t see and many are born with rickets, from lack of sunlight

Sorry ladies you don’t like it.. GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM

  7. Think of Charles Manson and women who killed for him.

Or the Waco cult leader who had sex with hundreds of female followers.

Or the 1000s of love letters from women to serial killer Ted Bundy while he was on Death Row.

Or the 100s of women of the Jonestown cult who poisoned their own children before drinking it themselves.

Weak-minded fools all who need to spend a month wearing their rag in Afghanistan before opening their ignorant mouths.

  8. Many things are unAustralian. Putting garbage on our Anzac memorial on Anzac morning eve for one. Flying around the suburbs with a lamb or goat to the slaughter in the back of their car another. FGM a real big no no in our society. Just about everything in Islam is offenceive to Australia. If only our politicians would help. They wont until we have a big mess to clean up in our streets. Or worse that we are bombed which is on the cards as we have one lot of Jihadists facing trial now and another five sent to gaol last year. We are sick and tired of it. The quicker Europe makes big moves to rid themselves from these terrorists, the sooner our government will act. They are too cowardly to go it alone.
