An Islamic religious leader accused of preaching jihad – holy war – in a South Auckland mosque will leave New Zealand today, his supporters say.

The mufti’s supporters have struck back at the allegations, saying they were spread by a “disgruntled ex-member who was banned from the mosque because of his controversial beliefs”.

South Auckland Muslim Association president Mohammed Hasim Khan said his organisation “vehemently refutes the allegations against Mufti Siddiquei”.

Mr Khan said the mufti, who was “pretty upset”, had tendered his resignation on December 11 to be with his sick mother in Pakistan.

“At no time, [did] Mufti Siddiquei preach Holy War either in his speeches or pamphlets in the madrasa [school], nor did he ever preach killing of people of other sects.”

Mr Khan said a YouTube video purported to show the mufti preaching jihad was “disputed as being genuine”.

The mufti had been staying with friends and was leaving New Zealand for Pakistan today.

“The teachings of the madrasa are for boys and girls, based on Islamic tenets and are well monitored by SAMA. Madrasa teachings are equivalent to Sunday schools. SAMA has always denounced any act of terrorism.

Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it. If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

Hecate December 21, 2010 at 9:53 pm: Pakistan – as soon as the word is mentioned you know you are in trouble. How can any government allow these people to enter our countries. They must be nuts. Just take a look at the photo of the galah. He is not fit to live anywhere. They bring these fiends in from the shit holes they live in to polute our wonderful countries.

2011 will be the year of change. Everyone get ready to kick this government out, and replace it with what? The people will have to take these matters into their own hands if we are open to the Islam effect any longer. I cannot believe that my fellow countrymen and women are so stupid about the importation of terror to our homeland. It has to stop. Please, in this Christmas break, write at least one letter to your member of parliament in both Federal and State. If they get a large outpouring of discontent from their voters, surely they must hear us. It is worth a try. It is better to send emails or letters to the local member as it takes at least three months for them to answer from the house of parliament in your state. By that time we could all be dead.
