Especially because Mohammedans consider everything pre-Islamic the period ofÂ Jahiliyyah, theÂ Â time of ‘ignorance’. For a believing Muslim, nothing the ancient Egyptians produced has any value, Â not the sphinx or the pyramids or Â the tomb of Tutankhamun. There is no statue, Â no work of artÂ Â or music that is permissible Â (haram) in the eyes of Â Allah. Â What matters is Islam, nothing but Islam. What matters is spreading the religion, and if the world burns in the process let it burn!
But no, its not that simple. When it comes to ancient treasures, the soldiers of Allah have no scruples to make their claims, even though Egypt is in turmoil:
