Musliculturalism is inflicted on us against the will of the Australian people
Paul Kelly confirms the political opportunism behind Labor’s new commitment to multiculturalism – a policy that exploits divisions, rather than overcome them: Despite big problems with multiculturalism neither side of politics is willing to ditch it
In the campaign Gillard took a tough line on boat arrivals, defined her leadership with a poll-driven rejection of a big Australia and invoked nostalgia for “an Australian way of life” typified by “clean beaches and precious open spaces” exploiting alarm over urban pressures and high immigration. Post-election, former NSW Labor premier, Morris Iemma, nailed one of Labor’s problems: “We abandoned multicultural Australia and they abandoned us,” Iemma said.
This view is widely accepted by Labor given its fallen vote in heavily migrant Sydney seats.
Kelly also confirms that this is a policy imposed on a disapproving public:
The truth is that multiculturalism as a political concept has not been embraced by the Australian public.
But here’s the ultimate political reality: off the 25 seats with the biggest Muslim minority, Labor holds 24, with the Greens taking the 25th from it at the last election:

All this explains why multiculturalists and much of the media so furious demand “bipartisanship” from the major parties. That is the only way that a policy that most voters think is against the national interest can be foisted upon them. And so minorities are bought off at the expense of majority.
Be warned by Britain, which has suffered from such craven politics:
More than three million foreign migrants joined the UK population under Labour’s open door on immigration, figures will confirm for the first time this week. Britain experienced the largest influx since the Saxons during the 13 years of the last Government with migrants arriving in the UK at a rate of almost one a minute…
Up to another million are feared to be here illegally, while a million Britons left the country during the years of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
The true legacy of the last Government is exposed today in a comprehensive review by the think-tank Migrationwatch…
(R)esearch by leading demographer, Professor David Coleman of Oxford University, concluded that if immigration continues at its present level the ‘white British’ may become a minority in the UK by the late 2060s.
The study comes as an independent poll revealed three in four Britons believe immigration is a “big problem” with concerns especially growing among younger people who are facing record levels of unemployment….
Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migrationwatch, said: “In the years to come immigration will be seen as Labour’s great betrayal…”
In 2009 Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett, claimed that the sharp increase in migrants over the last 10 years was partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and “rub the Right’s nose in diversity”.
Are we now seeing the same here?
Reader Alan RM Jones wonders how soon it will be before London needs a Green Zone:
SAS soldiers could be routinely deployed alongside police and MI5 in anti-terrorist operations as fears grow of a Mumbai-style attack in Britain. The Times has been told that plans to embed special forces personnel in counter-terrorism surveillance teams across Britain.
So who do they fear might be behind such an attack, and where did they come from? Should more people be imported from such a source?
