The EU is no different from Orwell's 'Animal Farm'

Remember when the commie bastards from the EU invited a creepy Syrian mufti to scare them out of their wits?  Remember Euromed? The coming caliphate? That’s right, you’re not supposed to know.

Geert Wilders was prevented from speaking in the EU pigsty, and was not allowed to show his 15 minute movie FITNA by the EU apparatchiks, because he might wake you from your slumber.  An EUro-dhimmi you will be!

STRASBOURG (AFP) – Syria’s top Sunni Muslim cleric urged the media Tuesday to use caution when reporting on religion, saying that the choice and timing of a report can cause a war.

“A simple piece of information can spark a war. If a man dies because of information that you have made public, his death will be on your conscience,” Shiekh Ahmed Badreddin Hassun told reporters at the European Parliament.

Or, as Kathy Shaidle puts it, “Publish stuff we don’t like, and we’ll kill you.” (Full article here)

The Grand Mufti of Syria in the EU Parliament on the occasion of the Year of Intercultural Dialogue

“Opening his address, the Grand Mufti stressed that “there is one single culture” in the world, the culture of humankind. Indeed, he said, “we are all building one culture, so I do not believe in the conflict of cultures”.”

Henry Ford said “you can have any car color as long as it’s black”  Grand mufti sez: “There is one single culture, and it’s Muslim (or will be Muslim)” and the EUro dhimmies applaud….

“Completely missing from the EU’s own reporting was the warning Dr. Hassoun has for the Netherlands (NL): Should it come to riots, bloodshed and violence after broadcasting the Quran movie by PVV-leader Geert Wilders, then Wilders will be responsible.  This was said by the Grand Mufti of Syria, Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun, Tuesday in the European Parliament, where he gave a speech at the invitation of the fraction presidents.

“If Wilders tears up or burns a Quran in his film ‘this will simply mean he is inciting wars and bloodshed. And he will be responsible”, according to te Grand Mufti.

Al Hassoun thinks it is “the responsibility of the Dutch people to stop Wilders”.

Why was this loudmouth allowed to address the EP in the first place? And why wasn’t he taken to task anout the persecution of Christians and others of a faith not islam in Syria and the ME at large? It speaks volumes about the EUnions dedication to freedom (none) that the entire parliament enthusiatically applauded a speaker that made some not very veiled threats against one of the EU member states, one of the founding states, even. No protests.”
No Questions allowed.

The grand Mufti also lashed out at Jyllands-Posten for its Cartoons. And he demanded limitations  of the freedom of expression. Which the EU has already introduced.   (Source)

The visiting Grand Mufti of Syria threatened Europeans over the “misuse” of free speech to criticize Islam. This has been carefully left out of the official EU reports from his speech at the EU Parliament.

One of the EU Commissioners, or unelected pan-European Ministers, addressed the European press a while ago, hoping that they would participate in this brainwashing of the public. Not in those exact words, of course, but the journalists got the message, and disturbingly enough didn’t seem to protest. This is the hallmark of a totalitarian state, where the authorities instruct the press on what to write and which ideologies to broadcast. That is what the EUSSR is rapidly becoming, as former Soviet dissidentVladimir Bukovsky has warned.

Benita Ferrero-Waldner, European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy (read: Eurabian affairs), addressed the assembly of journalists. According to her,

we do not believe the media should be regulated from outside, but rather that you find ways to regulate yourselves. […] 2008 is the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, and I am determined that by then we will have made significant improvements in the level of mutual respect and understanding our communities have for one another. In the months and years to come we must reach beyond the elites to the man and woman on the street. That is a vital part of the fight against racism and xenophobia. And you will be the key to achieving that.

This document is available on the Internet, but I doubt most Europeans have heard about it. Ferrero-Waldner also stated that “Freedom of expression is not the freedom to insult or offend. Hate speech is always abhorrent. The EU has in numerous agreements with Muslim countries made it clear that “Islamophobia” is a form of racism and hate speech.

The EU is now practicing this media censorship. According to Dutch blogger Klein Verzet, the Grand Mufti of Syria threatened Holland: “ (see above)

If you read the official texts by the EU media, this threat has been totally removed. (the noted blogger Fjordman published it on the Brussels Journal, here)

And then there is Baroness Ashton, the prototype of PC lunacy, who can’t even get herself to utter the word “Christian”  (Telegraph)

Italy accused Lady Ashton, the EU’s foreign minister, of ‘excessive’ political correctness

Baroness Ashton is under fire after the EU failed to agree on a statement condemning attacks on religious minorities in the Islamic world because it is not politically correct to use the word “Christian”.

A meeting of EU foreign ministers failed to agree on a condemnation of sectarian attacks over the Christmas period that targeted Christians in Egypt and Iraq. Talks ended angrily when Italy accused Lady Ashton, the EU’s foreign minister, of “excessive” political correctness because she refused to name any specific religious group as a victim of attacks.

Franco Frattini, the Italian foreign minister, demanded an EU response on the persecution of Christians after a New Year suicide bombing at a Coptic church in northern Egypt in which 23 people were killed.
The Egyptian bombing followed attacks in Baghdad and fears, expressed by the Vatican, of persecution leading to a Christian exodus from the Middle East.  Mr Frattini, backed by France, said it pointless to issue statements defending religious tolerance without any references to the specific minority, Christians, that was under attack.

“This position is an excess of secularism, which is damaging the credibility of Europe,” he said on Monday night. “The final text didn’t include any mention of Christians, as if we were talking of something else, so I asked the text to be withdrawn.”
Diplomats have accused Lady Ashton of appeasing Muslim sensibilities to avoid a “clash of civilisations” after Egypt reacted furiously to a request from Pope Benedict XVI for better protection for the country’s Christian minority.
The EU high representative said she would have to “reflect” further about how to “make sure we recognise individual communities of whatever religion who find themselves being harassed or worse.”
Criticism and diplomatic rumblings over Lady Ashton’s performance in the European foreign minister job are beginning to break into the open after the launch of her EU diplomatic service in the New Year.
“Those who thought the creation of a high representative would lead to a more unified and coherent EU foreign policy have been very disappointed with Ashton,” said a diplomat. “She cannot even finesse a statement from Christian Europe condemning attacks on Christians.”

  1. Unfortunately for Syria, its doom has already been “reported” – Isaiah 17:1. The EU animal farm will be destroyed also.

  2. it is not politically correct to use the word “Christian”.

    A Progressive Revelationist.

Meh, the ruling class has been using the quran to subjugate Europe since Martel.

It’s just so damn open and blatant now. Of course, the bahai stealth jihad gave a wider and more varied group of marxocrats a reason to embrace islam over Christianity that Atheism failed to.

A real end to Jesus Christ.

Is baha’u’allah the mahdi? So far it’s a factual yes.

  3. Totally delusional and clueless:

Unelected Baroness Catherine Ashton of EU laughably calls for democracy in Egypt

    Here’s Nigel Farage:

Nigel Farage reprimanded for criticising Baroness Ashton

The international reaction to the ongoing political chaos in Egypt took an amusing turn today when the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Baroness Catherine Ashton, penned an article in The Guardian saying she wanted to see “deep democracy” take root in Egypt.

Baroness Ashton repeated the line emerging from Washington and London that there should be a swift “transition” from the reign of Hosni Mubarak to something as yet unknown.

However she also warned that Egypt should not become what she called a “surface democracy” with votes and elections, but should be a “deep democracy” with the rule of law, an independent judiciary, free speech, free trade unions and etc.

The irony of this is of course that Baroness Ashton came to her present high office through neither “deep” nor “surface” democracy but by working her way up through the British quangocracy before finally being appointed one of the top jobs in the quango of quangos, the EU.

Now Hosni Mubarak is not a man that we in the West can be proud of. His regime is oppressive and has an extremely murky record on human rights to say the least, but at least he has faced a ballot box of sorts every once in a while, which is more than you can say for Baroness Ashton.

Of course the elections he faces are hardly models of democracy. Fraud, manipulation of electoral rules and turnout so low it would shock Labour MPs are the norm for Egyptian elections, the last of which saw Mubarak win nearly 90 per cent of the vote, despite only 20 per cent of those eligible to vote supporting him (a figure somewhere between what Gordon Brown and David Cameron got at the British general election).

Despicable as this is, it does in fact give more democratic legitimacy to Mr Mubarak than Baroness Ashton has ever possessed. This week we saw people come out onto the streets of Cairo to throw rocks and have rocks thrown at them in order to protect this man’s regime. They may be a misguided minority but it shows he has at least some support. Somehow I can’t quite imagine anyone doing something similar for Baroness Ashton.

Baroness Ashton, let it never be forgotten, despite a long career in various public sector bodies and now being the effective Foreign Minister for the EU, has never once submitted herself to the scrutiny of an election by the general public. Indeed the only election she has ever fought (and won) was that to become the Treasurer of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament at a time when it was receiving money from the Soviet Union.

She arrived at her current station after being appointed behind closed doors by the leaders of the 27 EU member states and is widely believed to have been chosen because David Miliband did not want the job due to his ultimately doomed ambition to be Labour leader.
