Julia Gillard insists the real Julia, who a decade ago was still a leader of the Socialist Forum, is actually a very conservative person:
The Julia of the Socialist Forum may have explained why when she wrote this for the comrades:
For the Left to make any real advance all these perspectives on the relationship to Labor in government need to be rejected in favour of a concept of strategic support for Labor governments. We need to recognise the only possibility for major social change is under a long period of Labor administration. Within that administration the Left needs to be willing to participate to shape political outcomes, recognising the need to except (sic) often unpalatable compromises in the short term to bolster the prospect of future advance. The task of pushing back the current political constraints by changing public opinion would need to be tackled by the Left through government, social movements and trade unions.
Competence in Border Protection:
I wouldn’t be surprised that this government is more worried about its own security than that of the community, and would rather give in to the rioters than have the riot:
The Prime Minister said media reports on a new visa category had stemmed from documents drafted by Immigration Minister Chris Bowen’s department. (Andrew Bolt)
It was never about warming, it was always about taxing…. YOU!
Government paid warming propagandist Ross Garnaut:
“This tax will protect future generations of Australians from dangerous climate change!”
Tax cuts to excuse a tax rise, and yet again middle Australia and richer Australians will be whacked:
The Prime Minister will give battlers the tax break to offset the $600 a year hit family budgets will take when the Government imposes a tax on carbon emissions – part of its plan to fight climate change.
“Cutting taxes is a live option,’’ Ms Gillard told The Sunday Telegraph yesterday…. Under the tax-break proposal being thrashed out by the Gillard Government, however, higher-income earners would miss out.
“Assistance will be targeted at those who need it most,’’ Ms Gillard said. “Pensioners and low-income families would come first, and I’d expect a lot of middle-income families would get assistance as well.’
Define “a lot”. And “middle-income”.
And global temperatures will fall…..Don’t worry. It will warm soon, we’re told
