The King Hearings: Is CAIR a Terrorist Organization?
“CAIR [The Council on American-Islamic Relations] was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the terrorist financing case involving the Holy Land Foundation. In the lead-up to this hearing, I found it shocking and sad that the mainstream media accepted CAIR’s accusations as if it were a legitimate organization.” (More on WaPo)
The “Obsession” We Have to Have, Because Infiltration is Real:
Yet another Muslim trying desperately to make King the bogeyman
Ali Velshi is another Stealth Jihadist who managed to get himself a gig with the Caliphate Networx. Naturally he tries to undermine the King hearings:
On Thursday’s Newsroom, CNN’s Ali Velshi claimed that Rep. Peter King has a “seemingly strange obsession with Islam and Islamists, or whatever you want to call it,” given the lead up and the first day of hearings looking into the radicalization of American Muslims. Velshi also bizarrely stated that “I don’t quite understand how when you put an -ist at the end of it [Islamism], it changes the subject.” Read more:Â newsbusters
The fact that one set of hearings focuses on one very real and unique threat the national security does not mean the government is turning a blind eye to other threats. Hearings on “extremism,” for example, would be unfocused, and unproductive, and would deflect attention from the proverbial elephant in the room, and what is demonstrably the most active and geographically widespread terrorist threat.
Then again, perhaps that is exactly the idea. “Kucinich: If Resentment Grows, Peace Will be Delayed,” from his congressional website, March 11 (Kucinich corrupt and in the Arab pocket? Would that surprise you?
Once again it turns out that the Brotherhood is involved in resistance to counter-jihad efforts, and is calling the shots even among America’s legislators.
“The DC Exclusive: Dems at radicalization hearings recite Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated group’s talking points,” by Matthew Boyle for The Daily Caller, March 11 (thanks to JW):
Rep. King’s hearings are shining light in dark places
Opponents of New York Republican Rep. Peter King’s hearings on domestic Muslim extremism have tried to make the controversy into a civil rights battle. The more the left obfuscates the issue, the more dangerous the threat becomes.
One line of argument is that the House Homeland Security Committee hearings are unfairly discriminatory because they don’t address other domestic terror threats, such as from purportedly violent militia groups.Rep. Al Green, Texas Democrat, bizarrely contended that failing to investigate the Ku Klux Klan somehow amounted to a defense of that organization. “Over a hundred years of terrorism, why not investigate them too?” he lectured The Washington Times’ Kerry Picket. But – perhaps unbeknownst to Mr. Green – the KKK and related groups have been and continue to be investigated thoroughly by the FBI and have been the subject of congressional inquiries dating back to the days of the House Un-American Activities Committee. Here we go again: Muslims attempt to mass-murder non-Muslims — think of the jihad terror mass murder in Fort Hood; jihad mass-murder plots thwarted in Portland; Baltimore; Lubbock, Texas; North Carolina; Times Square; on an airplane over Detroit; and more — and that’s just the last few months. And in the mainstream media, Muslims turn out to be the victims. In a sane world, Laura Yuen would be writing about how the Muslim community in Minneapolis was working hard to prove its loyalty to American Constitutional values, and instituting programs to teach against the understanding of Islam manifested by Islamic jihadists. Instead, they’re the victims, as always.
Mainstream media journalists are drearily predictable in their readiness to retail this line. It is remarkable how it never seems to occur to any of them to ask even the most basic probing questions about what these poor victims actually intend to do on their side to try to prevent future jihad attacks, and thereby head off this frightening “backlash.”
“Minnesota Muslim leaders skeptical and disappointed after radicalization hearing,” by Laura Yuen for Minnesota Public Radio, March 11:
Dumber than dirt:
On Thursday’s CBS Evening News, congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes implied that the House Homeland Security Committee hearing on the radicalization of American Muslims was simply a political show put on by committee chairman Peter King:Â “Ignoring calls from Democrats to cancel his hearing…King embarked on the inquiry in a room newly decorated with fiery images from 9/11.”
Cordes later declared that “King’s own past assertion that most U.S. mosques are run by radicals” resulted in “poisoning the atmosphere” of the hearing. She remarked on how King’s “relations with Muslim leaders there [in his Long Island, NY district] deteriorated after 9/11.” A sound bite was then featured of Dr. Faroque Kahn of the Islamic Center of Long Island, who labeled King a “Muslim-basher.”  Read more: NewsBusters
