Demonstrations un-Islamic:

Saudi Government Bans Demonstrations Because They “Contradict” Islam…

(Bloomberg)– Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry said that demonstrations, marches and sit-ins are “strictly” prohibited under the kingdom’s laws, the Saudi Press Agency said, citing an unidentified official at the Interior Ministry

Protests “contradict” Islam and the values of society, the Riyadh-based news service cited the official as saying. They harm public interest, infringe on the rights of others, spread “chaos” and lead to bloodshed, the official said. (via ZIP)

Saudi Arabia drafts in up to 10,000 troops ahead of protests

King Abdullah unveiled $37bn in benefits for citizens crumbs for the peasants after returning from abroad last week

Saudi Arabia is drafting in up to 10,000 security forces to the north eastern Muslim Shia provinces ahead of mass protests planned next week.

Desperate to avoid mass uprisings against the House of Saud, security forces have deployed in huge numbers across the region. King Abdullah is also reported to have told neighbouring Bahrain that if they do not put down their own ongoing Shia revolt, his own forces will.

In response to the massive mobilisation, protesters are planning to place women on the front ranks to discourage Saudi forces from firing on them.

In Yemen, President Ali Abdullah Saleh set off a deadly battle for survival last night as he rejected an opposition peace proposal and ordered troops to fire on demonstrators, killing four. Efforts to suppress demonstrations by the key ally in the “war on terror” could jeopardise rising volumes of Western aid flooding into the country, diplomats warned.
President Saleh rejected an opposition proposal that would have brought demonstrations to a standstill in return for a promise to step down by the end of the year. Yemeni troops used rockets and machineguns to attack demonstrators in the north of the country, killing four and injuring nine.

    Like true gentlemen!!!

  2. When the Soviets fought the Germans, they made sure to put the most undesirable elements of society in the front ranks, and gave them the fewest resources to fight.
Why am I not surprised at the Arabs doing the same?
    It’s a show of cowardice.

  3. Well well well what a surprise Demonstartions are unIslamic what a pity all those Mohammedan Rage Boy scum who have protested at the drop of a hat all over the world did not get that message from the Imams. Or do they just make it up as they go along Mmmmmm could be.

  4. Quote: protesters are planning to place women on the front ranks to discourage Saudi forces from firing on them.

Really? Since when did Saudi police, or for that matter Muslims give a damn about women. Women are simply canon fodder.

What this really shows is that the protesters do not give a damn about women either, and are using them as defensive shields. Poor women. They have no choice in the matter. Even if they win in this situation by beating the Saudi police (unlikely), they still wont reap the benefits that victors deserve.

  5. This gentelman in the Male Burqu is the symbol of Islamic Male Power. He will do a Gadafi on his own people. Its the Muslim way.

There was a bludger like him (several of them) standing in our Federal Parliament recently. I almost vomited, and thought if Ben Chifley woud have allowed this, or John Curtain. They were men of honour. Not the mob we have now, who will do anything, even vist them in Washington.

    How low have we become?
