"Bigots can have brown skin too"

A good rant from the enlightened progressive homo’s over @ Harry’s Place, who hate the EDL (“divisive bigots who harm community relations”.) But given a choice, (as if there was one)  they rather hide behind the EDL, because  Sheikh Khalid Yasin is a hate preacher who calls gay people ‘faggots’ and says they should be put to death.

Bigots can have brown skin too

The contempt in which we at Harry’s Place hold the EDL is well known, so I shan’t bother offering a re-hash of our clearly stated position in this post.

That said, there seems in some quarters to be a worrying tendency to assume that the victims of EDL intimidation are, by definition, totally innocent ‘good guys’.

More on Khalid Sheik Yasin:

Here’s a recent example of EDL members turning up drunk at a legally organised religious meeting and acting like the thugs they are:

Drunken protesters disrupted a talk from members of an Islamic information group in Reading last weekend.

Police were called to Rivermead Leisure Centre after a group of men who said they were members of the English Defence League started shouting abuse at members of the Berkshire Islamic Information Group at around 12.15pm on Sunday.

Police dispersed the group because some of its members were drunk and their actions were considered to be committing a public order offence.

Officers remained at the event, which was a lecture entitled ‘The Purpose of Life’ until it finished.

No arrests were made and the rest of day passed peacefully.

Around 400 people attended the talk.

As is so often the case, there is more to the story than immediately meets the eye.

Bob Pitt, for example, has blandly re-posted this article under the heading ‘EDL drunks disrupt Muslim meeting in Reading’. On the surface, that’s accurate, but just what kind of Muslims are we talking about?

The Berkshire Islamic Information Group website links to the following information about the talk in question, where we learn that the ‘inspirational talk’ is the work of Sheikh Khalid Yasin.

Now, here’s the problem: Yasin is a hate preacher who calls gay people ‘faggots’ and says they should be put to death. He also says:

“There’s no such thing as a Muslim having a non-Muslim friend.”

This, of course is not from the good sheik Yasin, but mainstream Islam:

Qur’an (5:51) - “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”

Unsurprisingly, anti-gay sticker poster Mohammed Hasnath is a Yasin fan.

This is hardly a minor slip on the part of the Berkshire Islamic Information Group, and looking at their resources page it’s not a one-off. The group recommends a text by Saleh As-Saleh entitled ‘Islam: The Complete and Final Message to Man’, in which we read:

The Muslim who is unable to practice his Deen must migrate from the non-Muslim land to the Muslim Land. It is recommended for those who are, otherwise, able  to practice Islam. If migration is not possible, then they should establish Muslim communities (not parties!) within their places of residence. They are to move to the same neighborhood if that is possible.  They may look at it this way:  let us have Muslim neighborhoods! Communities may have a reference “president of the community or the  like,” who works to strengthen the ‘Aqeedah (creed) of the Muslims and who co-ordinates  their affairs and works towards their Islamic welfare. The Most Important thing they have  to work for is establishing the right ‘Aqeedah, the ‘Aqeedah of Tawheed, and dissociating  themselves and their family members from imitating the disbelievers, if they truly want to  minimize the impact of disbelief in Allah in all of its manifestations.

The disbelievers want us to be like them! Let us not be deceived. Do we want to be like  the people of disbelief? The answer can be better understood if we think of Hell!

So, the Berkshire Islamic Information Group has held an event featuring the speech of a homophobic hate preacher who encourages communalism and hatred of non-believers, and then goes on to recommend a text that treats non-Muslims with contempt and advocates the creation of Islamist ghettos within majority non-Muslim societies.

The EDL are divisive bigots who harm community relations. And the Berkshire Islamic Information Group are…?

I think the enlightened progressives from Harry’s should take a closer look at themselves before condemning the EDL…..

  1. I heartily condemn the EDL. Being drunk and violently breaking up a meeting like that should be condemned. If they feel they cannot refute the ideas being promulgated, except through violence then they are no better than any group of bigoted thugs.

That does not mean I agree with the views being expressed by that Muslim preacher either. However, it does mean I can recognise when two wrongs do not make a right.

Your willingness to however suggest that the EDL should not be condemned for their tactics of violence and drunkenness suggests what about you, Sheik?

  2. I deplore drunkenness.

However, there is no need to “refute the ideas being promulgated”, because killing of homosexuals and the stoning of women are not something we allow you to force onto us.

I urge you to take a look at the daily violence, crime, murder, rapes and misery caused by your co-religionists before you point you bigoted finger at the EDL.
