“Islamophobia” causes Muselmaniac to shoot Cop
… and a Moonbat judge acquits him:
Judge Leonie Flannery accepted the argument, agreeing that BUSB may have fired a “warning shot in panic.”

- From the SMH:Â The man, who cannot be named and is known only as B*&$#, later admitted he was doing things to prepare for a terrorist act and was motivated by his religious beliefs.

Islamophobia’ Defense Succeeds for Shooter of Aussie Cop Islamist watch
An Australian Muslim was acquitted of attempting to kill or grievously injure a police officer, based in part on the judge’s decision that a vague and unsubstantiated “anti-Muslim feeling in the community” had helped make the perpetrator skittish enough to open fire out of fear. The verdict in the non-jury trial came in June, but a suppression order kept it hidden until last month.

Australian correspondent LAW Wells recently attended a lecture in Auburn sponsored by a Muslim organization. The topics covered included free speech, “racial vilification”, Multiculturalism, and the supposed compatibility of sharia with Australian law.
Well, WoJ readers know the answer to that one. But when Australian Justice John Dowd, Chancellor of Southern Cross University (and former New South Wales Attorney General and state Supreme Court judge) goes imam hugging and interfaithing, you better bring a box of Kleenex, because suddenly there need to be “reasonable limits on free speech”.
Justice John Dowd declared  that he wrote the New South Wales law on racial vilification primarily to “change the culture”, and also admitted that he had received pressure to include religions. It was pressure he resisted though, and this being the late 1980s, religious “defamation” was a non-issue.
Read the whole thing, because when push comes to shove, our civilization always makes room to accommodate the savages. Â (Gates of Vienna)
I thought we were rescuing asylum seekers from danger, not deliberately helping them to a lingering death:
BUYING cigarettes and tobacco for immigration detainees is costing taxpayers more than $1.4 million a year. While the federal government spends millions on anti-smoking campaigns, the cost of keeping up detainees’ habits costs about $4000 a day.
Moonbat Judgement continued:
After a judge-alone trial, Judge Leonie Flannery acquitted him, ruling she could not be convinced that this had not been the case. Judge Flannery said she accepted that he had felt panicked and had been feeling sick on the day.
”I am not satisfied that he put the Browning [firearm] in his pants because he was planning to shoot his arresting officers, but … his concern that he was going to be arrested and the climate of anti-Muslim feeling in the community at the time, he believed that he might be harmed by police. I consider it is a reasonable possibility that he did not deliberately shoot in the direction of [the officer], intending to hit him.”
BUSB was not charged with lesser firearms offences and was acquitted of all charges relating to the shooting.
