Mark Steyn on “New York Times nixes anti-Islam ad, runs anti-Catholic ad,”

by sheikyermami on March 15, 2012

The hypocrisy is mindboggling. Hammering Catholics is sooo cool, but you can’t do it to Islam:

Good to see that someone is calling the dhimmi cowards to account. “Times nixes anti-Islam ad, runs anti-Catholic ad,” by Neil Munro in The Daily Caller, March 14 (thanks to Pamela Geller via JW):

Times nailed:

The DC asked Robert Christie, the Times’ senior vice-president for corporate communications, if the Times’ decision is a surrender to violence and also an incentive for additional threats of violence…

OUCH! Enablers and appeasers.  Biased cowards and phonies.

Geller scoffed at the Times’ conditional commitment. She told The DC she believes the Times will never publish a criticism of Sharia, or Islamic law, because “when is it ever a good time to blaspheme under the Sharia?”…

Another bullseye.

Here’s Mark Steyn with Michael Coren talking about it: (via BCF)

Executives at The New York Times have rejected a full-page anti-Islam advertisement that mimicked a controversial anti-Catholic advertisement they published on March 9.According to a Mar. 13 letter sent by the Times to the ad’s sponsor, anti-Islam activist Pamela Geller, the $39,000 anti-Islam ad was rejected because “the fallout from running this ad now could put U.S. troops and/or civilians in the [Afghan] region in danger.”

The swine. As if they cared!

Bill Donohue, the president of the Catholic League, accused the Times of having a double standard and told The Daily Caller that The Time’s was based on “either [anti-Catholic] bigotry or fear [of Islamic violence], and they’ve painted themselves into that corner.”

Donohue said the frequent claims of intellectual honesty by Times employees would compel them to address the double standard if they weren’t “shameless.”

TheDC asked Robert Christie, the Times’ senior vice-president for corporate communications, if the Times’ decision is a surrender to violence and also an incentive for additional threats of violence.

However, Christie declined to discuss the paper’s decision, and referred TheDC to the letter sent by the Times to Geller and her organization, Stop the Islamization of Nations.

The Times’ letter included a commitment to “consider the ad … for publication in a few months,” and the claim that “we publish this type of advertising, even those we disagree with, because we believe in the First Amendment.”

Geller scoffed at the Times’ conditional commitment. She told TheDC she believes the Times will never publish a criticism of Sharia, or Islamic law, because “when is it ever a good time to blaspheme under the Sharia?”…

Indeed. Read it all.

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

Blaspheme under the Sharia?

Blaspheme comes direct from Allah:

‎5:73 “THEY DO BLASPHEME WHO SAY: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), VERILY A GRIEVOUS PENALTY WILL BEFALL THE BLASPHEMERS AMONG THEM.”

Old King Solomon was right,”There is nothing new under the sun.”
Human nature doesn’t change. We just never seem to learn from history.
What I am seeing in our society today is the truth of another old saying, this from a Greek philosopher, “Whom the gods would destroy, they first drive insane.” Can there be any other explanation for the inane insanity of our present day madness???

One other thing;if one wants to be free of religion, that’s their right. But,why don’t the Christian bashers,Catholic,Protestant,et al.,be brave enough to bash Islam as well???
Oh,if only Christ didn’t tell His followers to “Turn the other cheek.”

Amazing! you need a Jew, P Geller, is out there protecting the Catholic Church from bigotry!!

No, Stephanie, this interpretation of “blaspheme” comes from Mohammed’s delusions and hallucinations, and no American news outlet or individual is under any obligation to believe it, much less respect it.

I think they’re less worried about the troops in Afghanistan than they are about their own glass and stainless steel offices in New York being blown up by geezers dressed as desert warriors from AD 622.

Mark Steyn discusses the Georgetown slut’s ability to apply for a bank loan to support her own birth control. What I consistently see missing in that discussion – is the fact that (health care) insurance was developed to help cover catestrophic health crises. Statist pols stretch credibility with life’s inconveniences (from annual check-ups to birth control) as catestrophic and even worse, encourage a destructive government financed entitlement mentality for such inconveniences. It’s simply NOT what ‘insurance’ was created to be and far exceeds government providence.

“The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for the cost of contraception,” – Sebelius

and

“The president explained at the time that, “The overall cost of health care is lower when women have access to contraceptive services.”

Recall also, Obama declared that if Sasha and/or Malia got pregnant (presumably out of wedlock) he would not want to “punish them with a child”. [video]

Statism gone mad.

You are so right. ‘Health insurance’ has become ‘free health care.’ My car insurance doesn’t pay for my oil change or my wiper blades. My house insurance doesn’t pay for my exterior paint job or new hardwood floors.

Regarding NYTimes, Geller also points out how the NYTimes repeatedly ran ‘scandals of Abu Grabe’, and ‘scandals of Guantanamo’ despite critics pointing out that such artices would endanger our military. NYTimes is the perfect example of hypocrisy and deceit.

John and other Folks,
Simply do not buy the Times – let these idiotic social engineering types eat their typesetting gear for meals.

Off topic,

It appeas that the muslim ratbags that have infected France have now taken to murdering off-duty soldiers. The following report is typical of how muslims deal with people who pose a threat against their perverted “religion” and theri perverted ambitions.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17397354

I suspect strongly that muslims with links to Afghanistan are responsible, and I would sugggest that the French government should start the deportation or termination of large swathes of the parasic population group that have taken so much, stolen so much, and given nothing back to France.

France,
The experiment has failed – now destroy the virus that you have created byinfecting your country with second rate islamic filth before it destroys you. Unless you act soon you will loose your country.

me March 17, 2012 at 11:18 pm

Pam addressed that to “moderate muslims”
I wonder if either of them read it .

Like the NYT gives a shit about the safety of American troops.

The NY Times has been a shitty, dishonest and unethical news paper since the 1930′s when Walter Duranty spewed his lies in defense of Communism & Stalin.

So there is no big surprise that the NYT refused to publish Geller’s ad,

We need more like Mark Steyn! Saw him in Sydney a few weeks ago, and he was great on Q & A! Seems he gets away with things because of humour!
