President Obama portrayed his presidency as an effort to create Bill Clinton’s third and fourth terms during a fundraiser with the former president and his political allies.

He was never one of us, he was always one of them:

“I ran for President because we had lost our way since Bill Clinton was done being President,” Obama said at a fundraiser hosted by Clinton’s 1996 campaign co-chairman, who also chaired Hillary Clinton’s campaign against Obama.

Obama concluded by casting himself as the heir to Clinton’s legacy, as he promised to “continue what Bill Clinton was doing when he was President of the United States” if he was reelected.

• President Obama has had to endure hardships that no other white president has
• Obama has been called a “racist, an anti-Semite, a socialist, a communist, a foreigner, an alien and they’ve even called him a terrorist”

Minister Louis Farrakhan’s recent Saviours’ Day Convention address, made to a packed United Center in Chicago this past February, carried with it some stunning themes about our current president.  Thousands of followers of the Nation of Islam attended the event, which marked the 82nd year of the group’s existence.

Farrakhan began with a staunch defense of the sitting President, listing all the perceived offenses made against him:

“Never has a sitting president been spoken of in the manner that President Obama and his family have had to endure. Not just by the birthers and right wing zealots but those in high places, people with great influence have spoken against him in a manner that has never been accorded to even the worst of America’s white presidents. They have called President Obama a racist, an anti-Semite, a socialist, a communist, a foreigner, an alien and they’ve even called him a terrorist.”

To accent this point, Farrakhan began listing specific examples of offenses, landing on a specific one from an Arlington, TN, mayor:

“Arlington, Tennessee Mayor Russ Wiseman called Obama a Muslim president: ‘Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God and he will give you a ten minute dissertation about it when the answer should simply be “yes.”‘ It would make no difference to you if he said ’yes’, you still call him a Muslim though he‘s told you over and over again that he’s a Christian. Well, President, you might as well come on and join us then. You really would get something done then.”

He then made a biographical assessment of President Obama:

“[Obama] was going to focus on what he felt was in the best interest of every American. That was his spirit and because he grew up in Indonesia, the largest Muslim nation on the earth, he had some brush with Islam and had a better appreciation of Islam than any of his predecessors. So Muslims felt that he could bring rapprochement between America and the Muslim world.”

The highly controversial minister, with ties to President Obama’s pastor of over 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, continued with the following proclamation that some could see as racist:

“Now, look at all these Republicans that are running for the President? See? What experience do they have? You don’t care. They’re white. So to hell with you if we want to vote for a brother because he is black, that’s our business. We‘ve been voting for you for as long as we’ve had the privilege to vote. It’s an honor for us to vote for one of our own kind.”
