UK Education Secretary: “Fantastic” if every school in England were sent free copies of the Qur’an

Fantastic! Yes. That will really bring England forward:

It would be fantastic indeed, if they were taught how to read it carefully and critically, so as to understand how jihadists use it to justify violence and supremacism. But that won’t happen.

Every school in England could be sent free copies of the Koran, Michael Gove has said.The Education Secretary said it would be “fantastic” if a rich benefactor would support sending out copies of the Islamic holy text to schools.

I would suggest the use of Maududi’s Koran and discuss the commentaries, like here:

Syed Abul A’ala Maududi wrote a multi-volume commentary on the Qur’an. His commentary on this verse:

The purpose for which the Muslims are required to fight is not, as one might think, to compel the unbelievers into embracing Islam; rather, its purpose is to put an end to this suzerainty (that is, the rule of the unbelievers), so that the latter are unable to rule over people… The authority to rule should only be vested in those who follow the true faith. Unbelievers who do not follow this true faith should live in a state of subordination… Non-believers have absolutely no right to wield the reins of power in any part of God’s earth. And if they do, the believers have the obligation to dislodge them from that power by any means possible. The authority to rule should only be vested in those who follow the true faith.

There is no shortage of those among Muslims and Islamophiles.

Mr Gove has been an enthusiastic supporter of a current privately-funded scheme to send copies of the King James’ Bible to every state primary and secondary school in England.Last week thousands of the books were sent out to mark the book’s 400th anniversary.

Asked in a radio interview if he would “consider sending out other important texts like the Koran”, he said: “Well if people wanted to put forward proposals to me, philanthropists or others, for distributing great books to school then fantastic.”…

Sarastro June 3, 2012 at 3:55 pm: As Wafa Sultan said, all Korans in English or languages of European countries have been doctored to make them more acceptable and do not carry the same message as found in the Arabic Koran. So even if they were minutely read, the horrific truth of Islam would be de-fanged and people might begin to think “this is pretty good stuff”. The deception of Arabs knows no bounds. Burn all Korans, raze all mosques, expel all Muslims of whatever stripe. I’m so sick and tired of having to deal with Islam every day of my life, the Muzzies are forever sticking it under our noses. Assad is a dictator, but I don’t care if he’s killing other Muslims, leave him alone — the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim.
