Karzai fingers Pakis over Shiite  bombing 

Afghan President Hamid Karzai blamed Paki sectarian extremist outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi for the atrocity which killed  80 Shiite worshippers, which was “unprecedented on such a holy day,”

“Shiites are Muslims but they are heretics and their danger comes from their attempts to invade Sunni society,” said  Yousuf al Qaradawi.  But where would we be without  Condoleezza Rice who said that the Sunnis and the Shi’a “will just have to overcome” their ancient hatreds and learn to live together?

Jihad/martyrdom bomber murders 16 by driving explosive-laden motorbike into NATO/Afghan military convoy

Second time this month that the jihadis have targeted NATO troops in Khost. “Afghanistan suicide bomber kills 16 in Khost,” from the BBC, June 20 (thanks to JW):

A suicide bomber has killed at least 16 people and wounded 34 others in the eastern Afghan province of Khost, officials say.The attacker drove a motorbike laden with explosives into a joint Nato and Afghan military convoy in Khost city.

A spokesman for Nato said there were “some casualties” from the alliance, but did not give further details.

Hospital officials in Khost city said children and policemen were among those killed.

The head of one hospital told the AFP news agency that he received the bodies of four members of one family at his hospital.

It is the second time this month that a suicide attacker has targeted Nato troops in Khost, which is close to the border with Pakistan and hosts mainly US forces….
