ASIO chief: "stream of Australians head overseas for terrorism training"

Of course they are not ‘Australians’, they are soldiers of allah who have been allowed to settle behind enemy lines and given Australian passports, by clueless and naive bureaucrats.

ASIO chief David Irvine says he can’t sleep as stream of Australians head overseas for terrorism training

“I would like to tell you that things are different in Australia but I can’t.”

AUSTRALIA’S spy chief has warned of impending “home-grown, lone wolf” terrorist attacks as a steady number of Australians head to Africa and the Middle-East for extremist training.  (

Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Director-General David Irvine today said they are currently managing 200 active counter-terrorism investigations, but what keeps him “awake at night” is theterrorist from within.

“In June this year the head of the British security service, MI5, John Evans, revealed in a speech that in backrooms and cars and on the streets of his country there is no shortage of individuals talking about wanting to mount terrorist attacks,” Mr Irvine today told the Security In Government Conference in Canberra.

“I would like to tell you that things are different in Australia but I can’t.”

He said lone extremists, who are able to fly under the security radar, remain a very dangerous proposition.

“That lone wolf, that person who can be recruited, indoctrinated, and trained over the internet until the very last moment and that can happen in a very quick amount of time before a bomb goes off or whatever – that is the issue that I think keeps both me and my international colleagues awake at night.”

Although the weakening of the al Qaeda core has altered the destinations of choice for Australian-born extremists, Somalia and Yemen training camps have now become as attractive as their Afghanistan and Pakistan counterparts, he said.

“Heads of intelligence agencies, myself included, can give you no absolute guarantees of protection, the threat will remain as long as there are proponents of violent jihad.”

“The suicide bomber with an absolute belief of markedly moving to a blessed eternity of another world remains a particularly dangerous phenomenon.”

He said that ASIO has been working closely with other law enforcement agencies to prevent many attacks on home soil during the past decade but will remain vigilant in the lead up to the Bali Bombing and New York Trade Centre bombing anniversaries later this month and in October respectively.

  1. Very real threat, all you have to do is look at facebook pages of muslims here in Australia and see the way they speak about us and disrespect us and how they clearly brag about knowing people that are fighting in Syria etc, very scary, we need to stop these apes.

  2. There people are NOT Australians but they are here. As Jay said, you need to monitor these islamic thugs – you will be surprised at how much hate they have for non-muslims and for the country that has given them at home. To the muslim. you go down this path and you will NOT be allowed back. Your decisions will be final, and you WILL die by them. You are responsible in both this world and the next for what you do – we WILL make sure you pay in this world.

  3. Our government will do NOTHING to help. After the bombing in England – how many years ago? – did the British Government do anything? No, they just kept letting more and more in as if nothing had happened.
“We” are on our own. Our government is quite prepared to see us all die rather than do anything. We went from citizens to clients to consumers and now to nothing within about thirty years.

  4. We cant give in just like that, we cant and we wont, we have to bring to attention these hate pages on facebook and any other sites we find, we need to call out these apes for what they are and spread the word of their hidden agenda, never give up and never give in
