Julia Gillard wants to be a “global philanthropist”. But with whose money?

IN an interview with women’s magazine Marie Claire on sale today, Julia Gillard says her dream job outside politics is global philanthropist. Like so much of what the Prime Minister says, it sounds damn good but what it really means is far from clear.

This disconnect between rhetoric and reality segues into a deeper problem facing modern politics. Sounding good is too often used as a cheap and easy substitute for the harder yards of doing good.

Indeed, if there were a Walter Mitty Award for fantastical dreaming in Canberra, the PM would win it hands down… Promises on the never-never include a grand dental scheme, a vision for a National Disability Insurance Scheme and, most recently, a project to launch Australia into the 21st Asian Century. Gillard’s visions lack any sign of real-time implementation, let alone real-time funding. It’s as if Walter Mitty has come to Canberra.

Gillard really knows no shame, taking pride at sliming Tony Abbott before international leaders:

“The President of France congratulated me on the speech, as did the Prime Minister of Denmark and some other leaders just casually as I’ve moved around have also mentioned it to me,” she told ABC Radio this morning.

“So some approval here from some leaders at the Asia-Europe Meeting.”

How squalid. Can anyone imagine John Howard boasting some vicious and baseless personal smear of his opponent had wowed gullible foreign leaders?

How creepy, and how low.

Its scary to live in a country where people vote for something like that. (Ouch! I forgot: we never got a chance to vote for this creature…)

Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it. If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

As to her alledged support from the French Prez. Hollande for her defaming Tony Abbott: there would not be a more pussy-whipped male leader in the world today. He deserted his defacto and mother of his 4 or so children for his present squeeze, Valerie Trierweiler, whom the french have baptised the “Rottweiler” and/or the “first concubine”.

The public catfights between the two “ladies”, the first, Segolene Royal, one an extreme leftie and former candidate for the presidency, the second an insecure loud journaliste are something to behold. Miauuuuu Miauuuuu I LOVE IT! :)

Hollande, when on an public engagement the récent nearly run into his first de facto – who was there also on official French business (she is still politically engaged), so he literally made a U-turn and waddled away, so frightened was he what his bullying Rottweiler would say/do. .

While he is terrified of both his women, he certainly shows less respect to them than Tony Abbott does to his women!
