The leaders of the State Israel would be wise not to trust the leaders of Hamas in anythings that they might promise during the so called "talks' about a truce. For the heads of Hamas would be very disingenous in anything the claim about wanting peace. They would only dissimulate.
They would engage in the practice of the Islamic doctrine of Taqiyya. Which is the deception of non-Muslim for what they believe to be the good of Islam. In any "dialogue" with the heads of Hamas if they claim that they have peaceful intentions, they are lying.
Furthermore, it would be a good idea for the heads of the State of Israel in any "negotiations" with the characters of Hamas to heed to the wisdom of the Bible. Forit is written "Such men do violence to those at peace with them and break their promised word; their speech is smoother them butter but their thoughts are of war."
Psalm 55 :20,21. [NEB]
